Infant Site Gate Closing Time
Dear Parents and Carers,
Please note that we will be closing the gates at the infant site at 9:10am from Monday.
Families arriving to school late will need to ring the buzzer and come up to the school office to
enter through the main reception doors. You will then need to sign in late.
Please remember that school starts at 9:05am at the infants. Children should be arriving by
9:00am to avoid lateness.
On the junior site children should arrive by 8:45am ready for the bell at 8:50am.
Gates on the junior site are closed at 8:55am.
Many thanks

Safety on Cypress Road
Please ensure that children in your care stay
close to you as you walk
up and down Cypress
Road at drop off and pick
up times.
It has been brought to my attention this
week that a child running down the hill
ahead of their carer almost collided with
a car turning out of the vehicular drive
on the infant site.
Thank you for your consideration and
understanding.

ATTENDANCE &
PUNCTUALITY FOR
SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL
ASPECTS OF LEARNING
The personal and social learning focus for the whole school
in assembly and in the classrooms this week was to explore
what it feels like to belong to a community like Cypress.
Children were awarded celebratory SEAL certificates in
assembly today because they have shown that they can
work well in a group.
In addition, marking a change to our reward system this
year, all of the children named below were invited
to attend Headteacher's tea party this afternoon.
Congratulation to Violet class who were top of the

Cypress Football Squad
An incredible number of children (75!) took part in Monday's football trials.
It was wonderful to see so many children wanting to be active and sporty
and represent their school - nearly half of Year 5 and more than half of
Year 6!
Mrs Hart, Mr Todd and I deliberated for a long time over who to include.
The standard was very high, especially for Year 5, and we had to leave
out a number of very talented players to try and get down to a squad of
just 15.
In the end we arrived at the following children for our squad:
6BEE- Zach (GK)
Aaron-Donnae
Khanel
6LAR- Alexandra
Tanae
Michael
6OAK- Kyle-Luke
George
Lucas
Micah
5HORC – Christian
