Weekly Newsletter– Issue 159 December 17th– 23rd 2011 Coordinated and Supervised by: Marie-Therese Kreidy Script and Layout:Rita Karam Translation: Eliane Aoun Télé Lumière — Dora Square Beirut - Lebanon phone:+961-1-255500 Fax: +961-1-255001 Web site: www.telelumiere.com e-mail: [email protected] P.O Box: 80-900 Lebanon [email protected] Tele Lumiere in the Advent Season Every year, Tele Lumiere’s family is more and more pleased to celebrate Christmas. Today, it is bigger and more widespread around the world, spreading the Word that elevated, through the Incarnation, the human person to holiness. Tele Lumiere’s family is united around the manger’s Child for Whom it has existed, is making all preparations to receive Him not only with its various programs’ grid, but also through decoration to sow in all its guests’ hearts, the joy of Christmas. The Savior’s birth shall be considered deeply in its essence far from the show of appearance so that the mangers made by the Eucharist Sisters, every year, in the different TV’s departments, become true, showing the Celebrated and allowing him to reign as a King in the life of the TV’s family to renew its faith and its holy mission. In a spiritual reflection with Fr. Daoud Kawkabany highlighting deeply the Incarnation Sacrament, the TV’s family searched for the roots of everyone’s relation and personal experience with Jesus. Finally, Fr. Kawkabany concluded that our Christian life should be based on three issues: The Manger, the Cross and the Holy Eucharist. Cardinal John Patrick Foley On the Footsteps of Saints into the Arms of God The Apostolic Vicar for the Latins in Lebanon Bishop Boulos Dahdah and the Capuchin Friars concluded the diocesan investigation cause of the Lebanese Capuchin monks’ martyrdom in Turkey, the priests from Baabdat Leonard Melki who was martyred at Mardin in 1915 and Thomas Saleh at Merhesh in 1917, during a meeting at St Francis Convent- Mtaileb in the hope of their beatification. Working for the Christians in the Holy Land, he became their support and example. He always caught the opportunity to provide aids to all Christians in Palestine especially the poor and children, either in Gaza Strip or the West Bank, overcoming all the restrictions there. He was the Pro-Grand Master of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and the President of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications Cardinal John Patrick Foley who came back to his birthplace Philadelphia and passed into the arms of God last Sunday morning, at the age of 76, after suffering from cancer. Cardinal Foley the former President of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications was “a model of a Catholic communicator, someone who combined deep faith, spirituality and consummate professionalism and he is an inspiration to all of us”, according to the President of SIGNIS, the World Catholic Association for Communication Augustine Loorthusamy. Let’s pray together for this Cardinal who was the friend of communicators and was very generous in serving the Christians after practicing this mission with loyalty, sincerity and professionalism. May he rest in peace!
