Bem-vindos
É com enorme prazer que dou as boas vindas à 49ª edição do WRC
Vodafone Rally de Portugal.
Este ano, o Rally tem um sabor especial pelo regresso ao Norte de
Portugal, palco mítico do automobilismo nacional. Esperamos mais
público, mais paixão, mais retorno económico e turístico para o País e
uma emoção permanente ao longo dos quatro dias da prova.
Com partida em Guimarães, cidade fundadora de Portugal, o centro
nevrálgico do Rally estará sediado em Matosinhos.
A expectativa sobre a novidade e a realização de um dos melhores
ralis do mundo é muita, bem como a necessidade de que todos cumpram
escrupulosamente as medidas de segurança de forma a termos um
grande espetáculo.
A prova obteve em 2014 um novo recorde de retorno económico para
Portugal e para as regiões diretamente envolvidas, reforçando a elevada
adesão de concorrentes e espectadores, que coloca o WRC Vodafone
Rally de Portugal entre as provas mais participadas do Mundial.
Este ano, face ao corte do apoio do Ministério da Economia (através
do Turismo de Portugal) à prova, quero enaltecer o papel fundamental do Turismo do Porto e Norte na
concretização deste grande projeto como polo dinamizador de toda a região, em particular, e do País
em geral, através da Candidatura de Promoção Internacional da Região Norte.
Para o sucesso da prova tem sido imprescindível o apoio dos nossos patrocinadores Vodafone, BP e
ACP Mediação de Seguros.
Agradeço igualmente às Câmaras Municipais de Amarante, Baião, Caminha, Fafe, Guimarães,
Lousada, Matosinhos, Mondim de Basto, Paredes, Ponte de Lima, Valongo, Viana do Castelo e
Vieira do Minho, o apoio desde a primeira hora, bem como a comparticipação da parte nacional da
candidatura, cujo contributo nos permitiu organizar esta prova. Uma referência ainda à Comissão de
Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Norte (CCDRN) pela prestimosa colaboração e empenho
para a viabilização do WRC Vodafone Rally de Portugal.

Welcome
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 49th edition of the
WRC Vodafone Rally de Portugal.
This year the Rally has a special flavour with the return to the north of
Portugal, a mythical scenery for national motorsports. We are expecting
larger crowds, more passion, increased economic and touristic revenue
for the country and constant thrills throughout the four days of the event.
With the ceremonial start in Guimarães, Portugal’s founding city, the
Rally HQ will be held in Matosinhos.
Expectations over the novelty and the organisation of one of the world’s
best rallies are high, as well as the necessity for everyone to strictly comply
with safety measures in order to have a great show.
In 2014, the Rally managed a new record-breaking economic revenue
for Portugal and for the regions directly involved, strengthening the great
presence of participants and spectators, therefore placing the WRC
Vodafone Rally de Portugal amongst the most participated events on the
WRC.
This year, and following the lack of support from the Ministry of Economy
(through the Portuguese Tourism Board) to the event, I wish to underline the fundamental roll played
by the Porto and North Tourism Board in contributing to making this great project possible, acting as a
driving force for the whole region, in particular, and for the country in general, through the North Region
International Promotion Candidacy.
The support of our sponsors has been essential for the success of the event – Vodafone, BP and ACP
Mediação de Seguros.
I also wish to thank the municipalities of Amarante, Baião, Caminha, Fafe, Guimarães, Lousada,
Matosinhos, Mondim de Basto, Paredes, Ponte de Lima, Valongo, Viana do Castelo and Vieira do Minho,
for the support shown since the very beginning, as well as for their share on the national candidacy.

O Rally regressa ao Norte do País: novas especiais para muitos, mas troços bem conhecidos
e tradicionais para os verdadeiros fãs de ralis de todo o mundo. A sede do evento é na Exponor, em Matosinhos.
Para todos vós, em particular repórteres de imagem, esta mudança significa descobrir um
mundo totalmente novo de imagens espectaculares em novos locais, pelo que a publicação
que têm nas vossas mãos vai revelar-se uma ferramenta extremamente útil, tanto para vos
ajudar no vosso trabalho, como para facilitar as vossas deslocações durante o evento.
Foi muito o trabalho, tempo e dedicação colocados neste Media Safety Book com o objectivo de
vos oferecer a possibilidade de captarem as melhores imagens possíveis do nosso novo evento.
Os quatro dias do Rally são completamente diferentes, com alterações de ambiente, paisagens e perfil dos troços. Muitas das especiais contam com nomes populares entre os fãs e
profissionais: Ponte de Lima, Viana do Castelo… e a lendária classificativa de Fafe. Tudo isto
antecedido da partida oficial em Guimarães, junto ao castelo onde Portugal foi fundado, e de
uma Super Especial em Lousada.
Este livro foi projectado como um instrumento de trabalho exclusivo da imprensa acreditada,
em especial fotógrafos e equipas de TV. Todos os profissionais têm de aceder às especiais
com todas as garantias, mas têm sempre de ter em conta a segurança do Rally e de todas as
pessoas a trabalhar no evento. Isto também o inclui a si!
A segurança é ainda mais importante para a organização este ano e precisamos da colaboração de todos. Contamos com a sua ajuda porque o bom desempenho de toda a actividade
na estrada é fundamental para o sucesso do Vodafone Rally de Portugal 2015.
Enquanto representante da imprensa acreditado tem direito a “media tabard”. Use-o sempre
da forma correcta nas especiais e não se esqueça que o mesmo tem sempre de ser acompanhado de um passe media e que tem de estar visível. Você faz parte do Rally, pelo que terá
de respeitar sempre as indicações dos marshalls da prova. A segurança é a nossa prioridade
e também tem de ser a sua.
No caso de alguma emergência, ou qualquer outro problema no percurso do Rally, pode contactar-me através do meu número de telemóvel ou através do Secretariado do Gabinete de

Welcome to the 2015 Vodafone Rally de Portugal!
The rally returns to the north of the country: new stages for many, however old and traditional for the true fans of rallying
around the world. The headquarters of the event will be at Exponor, in Matosinhos.
For all of you, professional photographers, this move will mean the discovery of a brand new world of spectacular images in
new locations and, therefore, the publication that you are holding in your hands must become a useful tool, both helping in
your work and making easier your travelling throughout the event.
Behind this Media Safety Book there has been quite a lot of work, time and dedication with the objective of offering you the
chance to capture the best possible images of our event’s new configuration.
The four days of the rally are completely different from each other, with changing environment, landscape and stage layout.
Many of the stages feature names that are popular among fans and professionals alike: Ponte de Lima, Viana do Castelo,
Aboboreira… and the legendary Fafe. All of this is enhanced by a starting ceremony in Guimarães, next to the castle where
the Portuguese nation was founded, and a super special stage in Lousada.
In any case, this book has been conceived and designed as a working instrument exclusively for the use of accredited media,
especially for photographers and TV crews. All professionals must access the stages with all the guarantees, but always
having in mind the safety of the rally and all the people working in the event. This also includes all of you.
Safety is even more important for the organisation this year, and we do need everyone’s collaboration. We count on your help
since the proper development of all activity on the roads is key to the success of the rally.
On the following pages you will find the details that will facilitate access to all areas regarded as of particular interest for your
task. Very often they are privileged locations.
As accredited media representatives, you are granted with a media vest. Please wear it properly at all times on the stages. It
must always be accompanied by the use of the media pass, which has to be visible. You are part of the rally and, therefore,
you must always observe the indications of the event marshalls. Safety is our number one priority, and it must be yours, too.
In the event of and emergency or any other contingency on the rally route, you can contact me, calling my mobile phone or the
Media Centre Secretary. We will do everything possible to try to assist you and solve your problem.

Os fotógrafos terão à sua disposição uma sala exclusiva, com serviços gratuitos de acesso telefónico e

apoio técnico profissional aos fotógrafos acreditados que utilizem equipamentos da marca Canon.

Cacifos para Fotógrafos / Photographers’ Lockers
Na sala de fotógrafos estarão disponíveis cacifos individuais para recolha de material. Para a entrega
da chave será pedido um depósito de € 20 que será restituído com a devolução da chave.
Photographers’ lockers will be available in the photographers’ room. To get a key, a deposit of € 20
is required which will be refunded with its handing back at the end of the rally.
Segurança e Normas de Trânsito / Safety and Traffic Rules
A lei portuguesa exige a utilização de cintos de segurança nos bancos dianteiros e traseiros.
O limite de velocidade nas povoações é de 50 km/h, nas estradas nacionais 90 km/h e nas
auto-estradas 120 km/h.
Portuguese law requires seat belts to be used in front and rear seats.
The speed limit in villages and cities is 50 km/h; on national roads, 90 km/h; and on motorways
120 km/h.

Política Ambiental / Environmental Policy
Tratando-se de uma das provas do WRC com mais espectadores, o Vodafone Rally de Portugal procura constituir um exemplo em termos de política ambiental
quer a nível nacional quer em termos internacionais.
O Automóvel Club de Portugal, enquanto organizador
do Vodafone Rally de Portugal, preocupa-se com as
questões ambientais em todas as suas vertentes e ao
longo de todo o ano.
Neste contexto, a organização estabeleceu uma parceria com o Ministério do Ambiente, Ordenamento do
Território e Energia, através da Agência Portuguesa do
Ambiente, de forma a minimizar os impactos ambientais causados pela prova.
O Vodafone Rally de Portugal irá, de forma consciente, levar a cabo todos os esforços para que o impacto
ambiental seja minimizado colocando em prática as seguintes acções:
As one of the WRC events hosting a great number of
spectators, the Vodafone Rally de Portugal expects to
be an example for environmental issues, both nationally
and internationally. The Automóvel Club de Portugal, as
the organiser of the Vodafone Rally de Portugal, is all
year round concerned with environmental issues.
In this context, the organisation established a partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning
and Energy, through Portuguese Environment Agency,
in order to minimize the environmental impact caused
by the event. The Vodafone Rally de Portugal will consciously make every effort to ensure that the environmental impact is minimised, putting into practise the
following actions:
a) Informar e formar todos os elementos da organização sobre a sua política ambiental.
b) Promote the environmental awareness within
the different agents (organisation, drivers, teams
and spectators);
b) Divulgar e promover o conhecimento ambiental
junto dos diferentes agentes (organização, pilotos
e todas as equipas envolvidas, e espectadores);
c) Cooperate with environmental agents;
a) Inform and train all involved in the organisation
with its environmental policy;
c) Procurar cooperação e intercâmbio com os agentes
ambientais;
d) Take into account the environmental work and impact,
by choosing environmental responsible partners and
suppliers, as well as selecting products and services
using adequate environmental performance;
d) Levar em linha de conta o trabalho ambiental e o
impacto ambiental na escolha de parceiros e
fornecedores e procurar produtos e serviços que
garantam um bom desempenho ambiental;
e) Reduce the environmental impact in terms of
transportation, as far as possible;
e) Reduzir, tanto quanto possível, o impacto ambiental
no que respeita aos transportes;
f) Economizar energia e utilizar, sempre que possível,
fontes de energia renováveis;
g) Implementar medidas para promover uma recolha
selectiva do lixo, bem como a eliminação correta e
adequada do mesmo;
h) Estar conforme as leis, as regras ambientais e
outras exigências neste domínio;
f) Save energy and use renewable energy sources
whenever possible;
g) Implement measures to promote a selective waste
collection and propose an adequate final disposal of
waste produced during the event;
h) Comply with relevant environmental laws and regulations, and other environmental requirements;
i) Evaluate and improve our environmental responsabilities based on structured and planned work;
j) Involve all the local authorities.

j) Envolver todas as autoridades locais das zonas de
passagem do rali.

Segurança dos Media e Identificação / Media Safety and Identification
1 - É reconhecida a importância que os Media desempenham no Campeonato do Mundo de Ralis FIA e que
a cada elemento dos meios de Comunicação Social deverá ser permitido desenvolver as suas funções nas melhores condições possíveis.
2 - No entanto, os media não estão isentos de responsabilidade relativamente a regras de segurança.
Em geral, estas não devem interferir com a sua capacidade de realizar as suas tarefas.
No entanto, a segurança é sempre prioritária.
3 - Os media estão divididos em dois grupos:
a) MEDIA - passes media, nominais e numerados,
emitidos pela FIA ou pelo organizador da prova.
b) TABARD MEDIA - MEDIA COM COLETE - passes
media, nominais e numerados, emitidos pela FIA
ou pelo organizador da prova, bem como coletes
numerados emitidos pela FIA.
4 - Apenas os representantes dos media dispondo de
um passe e um colete FIA WRC terão acesso a áreas reservadas nas provas de classificação onde é interdito o
acesso de espectadores. Estas áreas estão assinaladas
no Media Safety Book do Rally com a cor azul. Todos
os restantes elementos dos media deverão permanecer
nas zonas espectáculo designadas nos troços.
1 - It is acknowledged that the media play an important
role in the FIA World Rally Championship and that each
member of the working media must be permitted to carry out his or her work in the best possible conditions.
2 - However, the media is not exempt from having to
respect safety rules. In general, this should not interfere
with their ability to perform their duties. Nevertheless,
safety will always take precedence.
3 - Media are divided into two groups:
a) MEDIA - media passes, named and numbered, issued
by the FIA or event organiser.
b) TABARD MEDIA - media passes, named and
numbered, issued by the FIA or event organiser,
plus numbered tabards issued by the FIA.
4 - Only media representatives wearing a media pass
and FIA WRC tabard will be granted access to reserved
areas on the special stages where spectators are not
allowed. These areas are marked in the events Media
Safety Book with blue color. All other members of the
media must remain in designated spectator areas on
the stages.
5 - Media representatives wearing a tabard must ensure
it is clearly visible at all times and not covered in any
way tabards are allocated on a strictly named basis and
are non-transferable. Failure to comply with this will result in the immediate withdrawal of the tabard.
5 - Os representantes dos media usando um colete devem assegurar-se que o mesmo está claramente visível
a qualquer momento, não devendo, em caso algum, estar coberto. O colete é atribuído numa base estritamente pessoal e não é transmissível. O não cumprimento
desta disposição resultará na imediata apreensão do
mesmo.
6 - If, in the opinion of a marshall, official or the FIA
Safety Delegate, the wearer of a tabard is located in
dangerous area he or she will be asked to move. If this
instruction is ignored, a written report of the incident,
detailing the number of the tabard, must be sent to the
Clerk of The Course, who will immediately forward it to
the FIA WRC Media Delegate.
6 - Se, na opinião de um comissário, oficial ou do Delegado de Segurança FIA, o utilizador do colete se encontrar numa área de perigo, ser-lhe-á pedido para se
mudar. Se a instrução for ignorada, deverá ser enviado
um relatório escrito para o Director de Prova, com o
número do utilizador do colete, que o fará de imediato
chegar à responsável Media WRC.
7 - Having heard the parties, the FIA WRC Safety Delegate may a) impose a reprimand, which will be taken
into account in the event of a further offence, b) withdraw
the accreditation for one or more days of the current or
following event(s), c) refer the matter to the Stewards of
the Meeting, d) refer the matter to the FIA Media Communications Group (formerly the Press Council).
7 - Ouvidas as partes, o Delegado de Segurança FIA
WRC pode a) aplicar uma admoestação, que será tida
em linha de conta em caso de futuras infracções, b) retirar a acreditação para um ou mais dias do presente
evento ou futuro(s), c) apresentar a situação na Reunião de Comissários, d) apresentar a situação ao Grupo
de Comunicação e Media da FIA (antigo Conselho de
Imprensa).

A circulação nos troços apenas será possível a veículos de imprensa credenciados como «WRC TV» ou «MEDIA TABARD»
associados ao dístico de 150 minutos. Estes estarão autorizados a percorrer os troços a partir do início, de acordo com
as seguintes regras:
A circulação de veículos a partir do início das provas de classificação é permitido até ao limite de fecho da estrada para
os media (150 minutos antes da partida do primeiro participante na PEC). Os tempos serão sempre calculados de acordo
com o programa oficial da prova. Ao entrar pelo início do troço, por favor encontre o local de estacionamento de forma
rápida e segura e, uma vez estacionado, não mova mais o carro. Todas as viaturas com a placa media tabard devem estar
estacionadas pelo menos 30 minutos antes da partida do primeiro concorrente.
Todas as classificativas serão percorridas por duas vezes na mesma etapa. Depois da primeira ou da segunda passagem
dos concorrentes, os elementos da media poderão sair da PEC na direcção do Rally, mas somente após a passagem do
carro-vassoura.
À exceção dos veículos de emergência, nenhum outro tem permissão para entrar numa prova especial de classificação
através de uma estrada de acesso.
Driving on the stages will only be allowed to media vehicles accredited as “WRC TV” or “MEDIA TABARD” together with the
150 minute sign. These are authorized to drive through the stages from the start, according to the following rules:
Access of vehicles to the start of a special stage is allowed until the media road closing time (150 minutes before the start
of the first rally car). Times will be strictly adhered to and defined accordingly to the official rally time.
When entering through the stage start, please find your parking spot quickly and safely and, once you are parked, do not
move the car. All media cars must be parked no later than 30 minutes before the start of the first rally car. All stages will be
run twice in the same leg. After the first or the second passage of the rally cars, media are allowed to exit the special stage
towards the direction of the rally route, but only after the passage of the sweeper car.
Entrance to a special stage by an access road is not allowed to any car, except emergency vehicles.

De forma a facilitar a tarefa dos media, a organização criará espaços para estacionamento dos carros identificados com
as placas media tabard junto dos cruzamentos das Zona Espectáculo (ZE), onde o terreno o permita.
Em cada uma das provas de classificação do rally haverá Zonas Espectáculo em cujo acesso foi prevista uma área destinada ao estacionamento de veículos credenciados e, em particular, de veículos credenciados MEDIA ou MEDIA TABARD.
In order to ease the work of the media, the organisers will provide parking areas (if possible) for media tabard identified
cars near the junction of some Spectator Area (ZE).
In every Special Stage there will be Spectator’s Area in which road access there will be a dedicated parking area for cars
holding an official plate. These areas are mainly dedicated to the cars holding Media or Media Tabard plates.

Os comissários destas zonas estão avisados para a presença dos representantes dos media com colete, mas a sua prioridade será sempre a segurança. Os representantes dos media podem deslocar-se dentro dos limites destas zonas exclusivas e seguras. Sempre que possível, a utilização de fita vermelha e de barreiras artificiais será reduzida a um mínimo,
colocada a um nível baixo e o mais afastado possível da estrada.
Marshalls in these areas are prepared for the presence of media representatives with tabards. However, safety will always be
their priority. Media are allowed to move within the limits of these safe and exclusive zones. Wherever possible, the use of
red tape and artificial barriers will be reduced to a minimum, set at a lower level and as far away as possible from the road.

por media com colete. Se for seguro, os marshalls permitirão aos media com colete que se posicionem à frente da
rede/fita da área de espectadores. Por favor respeite a avaliação de risco dos marshalls.
Areas defined for spectators in the safety media book and/or official program can also be used by tabard media.
If safe, marshalls will allow you to stand just in front of the spectator barrier/fence.

Os media com colete devem ser autorizados a deslocar-se ao longo da delimitação da área de espectadores, caminhar de um ponto para outro da especial e/ou atravessar a especial durante o intervalo de passagem dos carros de
ralis, sempre em concordância com as instruções de segurança dos marshalls. Quando a especial está a decorrer
não é permitido caminhar ao longo da mesma. Por favor nunca se coloque num plano inferior ao da estrada.
The tabard holders should be allowed to walk along the spectator tape/marker, to walk from one point of the stage
to another and/or cross the stage during the intervals between the passing of the rally cars, always in accordance
with marshalls’ safety instructions. When a special stage is live, crossing the track is permitted when safe. Please
find a place with a wide view of the road before crossing and respect the instructions given by marshalls. However,
Media may never stand in forbidden areas.

História / History
Fundado em 1903, o Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP) desde sempre dedicou uma atenção muito especial à competição automóvel
em Portugal, tendo chamado a si a organização das mais importantes competições dos calendários internacionais.
Não admirou por isso que, em 1967, o ACP tivesse levado para a
estrada a primeira edição do Rally TAP, competição que rapidamente granjeou enorme prestígio internacional a ponto de, seis anos
depois, ter feito parte do primeiro Campeonato do Mundo de Ralis.
Ao longo da sua história, o Rally TAP, e mais tarde o Rally de Portugal, escreveram páginas de sucesso no palmarés do Mundial, a
ponto de ter sido considerado por cinco vezes o “Melhor Rally do
Mundo” e em 2000 ter sido distinguido com o prémio de “Rali com
Melhor Evolução do Ano”.
Depois da decisão da FIA em retirar a prova do calendário do Mundial, os responsáveis do ACP, desde que a Direcção presidida por
Carlos Barbosa foi eleita, não deixaram de apostar no regresso
do Rally de Portugal ao escalão máximo, o que foi conseguido em
2007, tendo as estradas do Algarve por cenário.
Fruto da rotação das provas no calendário do Mundial, o Rally de
Portugal esteve ausente do WRC em 2008, mas voltou em 2009
ao convívio dos grandes eventos internacionais, num evento que recebeu os elogios unânimes de participantes, autoridades desportivas e Comunicação Social.
Prova incontornável do calendário desde essa altura, o Rally de Portugal tem proporcionado aos pilotos, equipas e fãs momentos absolutamente emocionantes e 2014 promete não ser diferente com a
ronda do ACP a apresentar-se, uma vez mais, como a quarta etapa
do Campeonato e a primeira verdadeira prova de terra do ano depois das rondas de asfalto de Inverno, em Monte Carlo, de neve, na
Suécia e da tirada de alta altitude do México e Argentina.
Founded in 1903, Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP) has always paid
a very special attention to motorsport in Portugal and it is responsible
for the organisation of the most important events from the international calendars.
It was no surprise that, in 1967, ACP put on the road the first edition
of the TAP Rally, a competition which, within a short time, conquered
enormous international prestige and, only six years later, joined the
first World Rally Championship.
TAP Rally, and later Portugal Rally, has been responsible for glorious
pages of success in World Championship history, having been awarded for five times the title of “Best Rally in the World”. In 2000, it was
considered “The Most Improved Rally of the Year”.
After having been withdrawn from the WRC calendar by FIA, the new
ACP board, formed after President Carlos Barbosa’s election, worked
very hard from 2004 to put the Rally de Portugal back in the WRC
calendar, what was achieved in 2007, with the Algarve roads as scenery.
As a result of the events rotation within the WRC calendar, Portugal Rally has been out of the 2008 Championship, but was back in
2009, receiving the unanimous applause from drivers, sporting authorities and Media. One of the most awaited events of the calendar
since then, the Rally de Portugal has offered huge emotions to drivers,
teams and fans alike, and 2014 won’t be any different. The ACP Rally is, once again, the fourth round of the calendar and the first true
gravel rally of the year after the Winter asphalt round of Monte Carlo,
the snow from Sweden, and the high altitude of the Mexican and
Argentinian event.

Vodafone Rally de Portugal 2014
Tal como nos dois anos anteriores, a dupla Sébastien Ogier e
Julien Ingrassia levaram de vencida a edição de 2014 do Vodafone Rally de Portugal aos comandos do Volkswagen Polo
R WRC, ao que juntaram ainda o triunfo no Power Stage para
arrecadarem o máximo de pontos pela segunda vez na época
rumo ao segundo título Mundial.
Vencedor de oito das 16 especiais, o francês começou a prova
ao ataque para sair de Lisboa na primeira posição, contudo
no segundo dia foi de altos e baixos. Terceiro após a terceira
especial, atrás de Dani Sordo e Ott Tänak, Ogier respondeu ao
final da manhã para recuperar a liderança, mas viria a ver-se
de novo relegado para o terceiro lugar ao final do dia, desta
feita atrás com a liderança a cargo de Mikko Hirvonen e com a
segunda posição novamente nas mãos de Tänak.
A segunda Etapa começou sem alterações, mas com o Campeão do Mundo a recuperar terreno para regressar à liderança
do Rally, posição que não mais perderia. Enquanto isso, Jari-Matti Latvala rodava ao ataque para tentar recuperar o tempo perdido na véspera na sequência de aparatoso acidente.
Ao mesmo tempo, atrás do francês o pódio final começava a
ganhar forma. O finlandês Mikko Hirvonen consolidava o segundo posto aos comandos do Ford Fiesta RS WRC, enquanto
o estónio Tänak bloqueava o troço na sequência de um acidente com Fiesta RS WRC e colocava assim ponto final nas
aspirações a um resultado no Top 3. Grande beneficiado foi o
norueguês Mads Østberg que levava o Citroën DS3 WRC ao
mais baixo lugar do pódio.
Com o Top 3 definido, a prova continuou a assistir a animados
duelos pelas restantes posições, com Andreas Mikkelsen (VW
Polo R WRC) e Henning Solberg (Ford Fiesta RS WRC) a completarem a lista dos cinco primeiros. Nasser Al-Attiyah (Ford
Fiesta RRC) foi o vencedor entre os WRC2, enquanto Stéphane Lefebvre (Citröen DS3 R3T) levou de vencida o WRC3 e, ao
mesmo tempo, o Júnior WRC. Já entre os pilotos da casa Pedro
Meireles (Skoda Fabia S2000) foi o grande vencedor da prova
nacional, se bem que o melhor português de todo o Rally foi
Bernardo Sousa, que levou o Ford Fiesta RRC ao 15º posto
da geral, o que se traduziu na quinta posição entre os WRC2.

As in the two previous years, the Sébastien Ogier and Julien
Ingrassia team drove the Volkswagen Polo R WRC to victory
at the 2014 Vodafone Rally de Portugal. Not satisfied, and
on their way to the second World crown, the French team also
won the Power Stage, scoring, for the second time in the season, the total of points available.
Winning eight of the 16 stages, Ogier started the rally on
the attack to leave Lisbon as leader, but the second day was
punctuated by highs and lows. Third overall after SS3, behind
Dani Sordo and Ott Tänak, the French fought back during the
afternoon to get back the first position. However, he would,
once again, be relegated to third by the end of the day, this
time with Mikko Hirvonen leading the pack and Tänak again
in second.
The second leg started without changes, but with the World
Champion climbing up the chart to get back to first, a position
we wouldn’t surrender. Meanwhile, Jari-Matti Latvala drove
very fast in an attempt to get back the time he had lost in the
previous day due to a spectacular crash.
At the same time, the podium started to gain shape behind
the French. The Fin Hirvonen was a solid second at the wheel
of the Ford Fiesta RS WRC, while Estonian Tänak blocked the
stage after having crashed his Fiesta RS WRC, thus having put
an end to his hopes to be among the top 3 in Portugal. The
Norge Mads Østberg was the one who benefited the most with
the crash, having taken his Citroën DS3 WRC to the last step
of the podium.
With the top 3 settled, the event saw very interesting duels for
the remaining positions, with Andreas Mikkelsen (VW Polo R
WRC) and Henning Solberg (Ford Fiesta RS WRC) completing
the top 5. Nasser Al-Attiyah (Ford Fiesta RRC) won the WRC2,
while Stéphane Lefèbvre (Citroën DS3 R3T) was the strongest
amongst the WRC3 and, at the same time, the Junior WRC.
As far as the home drivers are concerned, Pedro Meireles (Skoda Fabia S2000) was the winner of the national event, although the best Portuguese on the Rally was Bernardo Sousa,
who drove his Ford Fiesta RRC to the 15th spot overall, fifth
amongst the WRC2.

HELICÓPTEROS / HELICOPTERS
De acordo com os requisitos da FIA sobre a utilização de helicópteros, todos os helicópteros que estejam a prestar
apoio ao rally devem estar registados na Organização. Como medida de segurança, haverá um protocolo para controlodo espaço aéreo do rally e apenas os helicópteros registados estarão autorizados a voar neste espaço aéreo.
A taxa de registo de cada helicóptero é de € 2.460,00 (IVA incluído). Data limite para registo, 29 de Abril 2015.
According to FIA guidelines for helicopter use, all helicopters flying in support of the Rally must be registered with the
Organisers. It is intended that, as a safety precaution, there will be a protocol to control Rally airspace and only registered aircrafts will be allowed to fly in this airspace.
The registration fee for each helicopter will be € 2.460,00 (inc. VAT). The deadline for registration will be the 29th
April 2015.

RALLY OF PORTUGAL HOST CITY
Located on the right bank of the Douro River, Matosinhos is one of the largest cities in the Porto District.
With a rich history stretching back for millennia, the
Matosinhos Municipality has a long lasting tradition
and cultural heritage, thus harmoniously joining its

The Bom Jesus de Matosinhos Church, associated with
the legend of the Lord of Matosinhos, is the origins of
one of the country’s largest pilgrimages. Every year,

and attributed to the Pharisee Nicodemos. According
