D3/D4/D5 Basketball
The official rules of this tournament are in conjunction with FIBA. Exceptions below:
A.
The games will consist of two 15-minute halves (time can extended if the schedule allows).
There will be a 5-minute warm-up (unless behind schedule) and a 5-minute half time
(unless behind schedule). Time will stop in the last two minutes of the game and extra time.
B.
Plus 30 points is the maximum point difference allowed to be counted per game.
C.
Each team has 2 Time Outs per game lasting one minute. Time stops on all Time Outs.
D.
Teams will shoot free throws on the 8th foul (time can stop on free throws depending on
the amount of time the schedule allows) each half.
E.
There is no shot clock.
F.
In D5, the 8-second rule is extended to 10 seconds. Also in D5 for the 3 and 5-second rule,
the player will be warned twice about the infraction, the third time the infraction will be
called.
G.
On all balls out of bounds, the ball must be given to the ref, except on a made basket.
H.
If the score is tied at the end of the second half, the game shall be continued with an extra
period. The overtime period will last 2 minutes (overtime can be longer if schedule
permits). If after the 2 minutes (preceding overtimes can be extended if schedule permits)
the teams are still tied, then we go to a second overtime with the first team to score
winning.
I.
Sportsmanship is a must. Any player or coach using inappropriate language or arguing with
the ref will be given a technical foul. Teams who are up by 20 points or more must stop
full court pressing and play only man-to-man half-court defense, picking up at the halfcourt line. They can continue to full court press when the score goes back below 20 points
difference. A warning will be given if this isn’t happening. A technical foul (1 foul shot and
possession of the ball for the opposing team) will be given to the coach if it continues.
J.
Zone defense is not permitted. You cannot double team a player unless it is help defense
or going after a loose ball. Any team playing a zone defense will be warned. The next time
a zone defense is played, the coach of that team will receive a technical foul (1 foul shot
and possession of the ball for the opposing team).
K.
When subbing, all players must report to the scorer’s table and wait for the ref to allow
them into the game. Teams may have 18 players on the roster for each game. All teams will
be permitted to have on the bench a coach, assistant coach, and their AD/Head of PE. If a
team has more than 18 players, those players may sit behind the bench. All other personnel
must be seated in the bleachers.
Tie-Breaking Procedures

In the event of a two-way tie for any position in final tournament standings, the tie will be broken by
awarding the higher place to:

D3/D4/D5 Soccer
The official rules of this tournament are in conjunction with (FIFA). Exceptions below:
The games will consist of two 15-minute halves (time can extended if the schedule allows).
There will be a 5-minute warm-up and a 5-minute half time (unless behind schedule).
3 points – win 1 point – tie
0 points – loss
Plus 5 goals is the maximum goal difference allowed to be counted per game.
Yellow cards: 2 yellows in the same game = player misses next game in this tournament; 3
yellows in the tournament = player misses next game.
Red cards: Direct red = player misses 1 game; Direct red (violent conduct) = out of the
Tournament. Cards can be given in D5 but a warning should be given first.
There are no off sides in D3/4/5 girls as well as D5 boys. The kick-off is an indirect kick in
these divisions.
If the ball is passed back to the goalie, he/she may not pick the ball up. This rule does not
apply to D5.
Sportsmanship is a must. Any player or coach using inappropriate language or arguing with
the ref will be given a yellow card.
Teams may have an unlimited number of players on the roster for each game. When subbing,
all players must wait for the referee’s permission to enter the game. All substitutions need to
be made on dead balls. Players subbed may return.
Coaches are responsible for acting as linesmen (or providing a linesman). Linesmen should
help with out of bounds calls and fouls (even against own team).
