2016 Abreu Golf Circuit
T
he Obidos Lagoon, specifically the Guardian Bom
Sucesso course, hosted the second stage of the
2016 Abreu Golf Circuit on May 7th.
The tournament was plagued by wind and rain, but
most players – 56, in 28 pairs – responded well to the
challenge. Their retorts were artistry, ingeniousness,
combativeness and total immersion in the game.
Three pairs qualified for the final: Jorge Abreu / Luis
Themudo (1st gross, with 29 points), David Stead / Timothy Jones (1st net, 40 points) and Fernando Pimentel /
Vicente Gouveia (2nd net, 40 points).
The warriors relaxated post round at tables, in a meeting with all the fair play, applause and conviviality, both
during prize awarding and the ensuing raffle .
The Abreu Golf circuit is a charitable event, with 10 percent of the proceeds reverting to Bagos d’Ouro, an association developing relevant work in support of needy
children and youth in the Douro. More information is

Lagoa de Óbidos, delegando no Guardian Bom
Sucesso as ‘insígnias’ de anfitrião, recebeu, a 7 de
maio, a 2.ª etapa do Circuito de Golfe Abreu 2016.
Uma jornada de grande afirmação da modalidade, num
cenário onde a chuva e o vento ditaram as regras, tendo
a maioria dos jogadores – num total de 56 inscritos, no
desdobramento de 28 pares – respondido à letra. Os seus
argumentos foram a arte, o engenho, a combatividade e a
entrega total ao jogo.
Apuradas para a final estão as duplas Jorge Abreu e Luís
Themudo (1.º lugar Gross, somando 29 pontos), David
Stead e Timothy Jones (1.º lugar Net, 40 pontos) e, finalmente, Fernando Pimentel e Vicente Gouveia (2.º lugar
Net, 40 pontos).
O descanso dos ‘guerreiros’ aconteceu à boa mesa, num
encontro com todo o fair play, muita animação e aplausos,
seja na consagração dos pares vencedores, seja, após a entrega de prémios, nas variadíssimas surpresas oferecidas
pelas marcas parceiras do evento, que giram na tômbola.
O Circuito de Golfe Abreu é um evento com dimensão solidária, sendo que 10% das receitas geradas pelas inscrições
reverte para a Bagos d’Ouro, associação que desenvolve
