HISTORY
1990-Although the museum is vested in
the old mansion, the building is in very
bad condition. A Dra Maria Emília Prates,
technician of the Secretaria de Estado
da Cultura,( Culture Sec.) is sent to help
with the further installation of the museum. She stays for several years working
on the organisation of the donated material. The museum continues to arrange
exhibitions throughout the Algarve that
are mentioned in the press of that time.
There is also a course in the restoration
and confection of traditional costumes
given by Esmeralda Madeira of the National Costume Museum in Lisbon who
left her mark of quality on the museum
for the future.
