Tate, PhD Assistant Professor Department of Marketing and Logistics University of Tennessee • Received PhD (2006: Supply Chain Management with a focus on Purchasing) and MBA (1993: International Business) both from Arizona State University. Research Activities • Primary research interests focus on purchasing including environmental supply chain issues and the purchasing of services. • Published articles in both managerial and academic outlets including: California Management Review, Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Supply Chain Management, Journal of Operations Management, International Journal of Production, Distribution & Logistics Management, Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Service Research and others. • Sponsored research projects include: o Supply Management’s Involvement in Environmental Projects. Consulting and Industry Experience • Many years of industry experience spent predominantly in the furniture industry working in a number of supply chain positions in operations, logistics and purchasing. • Performed in-depth case study analysis on many organizations with a general focus on purchasing and supply chain management.
