Mentes brilhantes A esmagadora maioria dos inventores luta, por meios próprios, para criar projectos e ajudar Angola e o Mundo Brilliant Minds The overwhelming majority of inventors struggle to get the means needed to launch projects and help Angola and the world Para além das medalhas de ouro, prata e bronze arrecadadas na Feira Internacional de Ideias, Invenções e Novos Produtos (IENA), em Nuremberga, Alemanha, nos últimos três anos, estas cinco figuras angolanas têm-se esmerado no segmento das invenções com projectos de grande utilidade. Os nossos inventores forjaram-se na infância. Muitos expressam as suas aptidões, desmontando e montando dispositivos electrónicos complexos sem quaisquer dificuldades. Os objectivos destes homens passam por resolver os problemas que identificam no dia-a-dia, a fim de contribuir para o engrandecimento de Angola neste sector. Conheça estes briosos criadores que ainda enfrentam a barreira da angariação de patrocínios para a produção em série dos seus produtos. 18 In addition to the gold, silver and bronze medals obtained at the International Fair of Ideas, Inventions and New Products in Nuremberg, Germany, over the last three years, these five Angolan personalities have been determined in the invention of projects of great utility. Our inventors were forged by their childhoods. Many expressed their skills in dismantling and putting complex electronic devices back together. The objectives of these men expanded to resolving problems identified in their daily lives and routines and thus also helping boost the Angolan profile in this sector. What? – Virtual dictionary of national languages. Porquê? Why? – To learn the national languages on the inspiration of my grandparents and parents. Como? How? – Translating the words of these national languages to Portuguese and vice-versa. Técnico de informática numa empresa privada, este jovem de 28 anos, natural de Luanda, explica que criou o projecto Zwela, um software que traduz palavras do kimbundo, umbundo e kikongo para o português, por causa da necessidade que tinha de se comunicar com a sua avó, Rosa Cabanga, 75 anos, e com os pais em dialecto. This 28 year old Luanda born IT specialist for a private company explained how he set up project Zwela, software translating words from Kimbundo, Umbundo and Kikongo to Portuguese because of the need he had to communicate with both his grandmother, Rosa Cabanga, aged 75, and his parents. 20 Inácio Simão O que é? What? – Candle base for recycling the wax. Porquê? Why? – For an economy of monetary value and preserving the environment. Como? How? – The broken down wax is reused through a mould. Natural de Malanje, 23 anos, desde 2011, é um dos “papões” da Feira de Nuremberga, na Alemanha. A ideia da base de vela (na foto) surgiu fruto dos cortes de energia eléctrica em Viana, onde reside, e do interesse em proteger o ambiente através do processo de reaproveitamento da cera. Born in Malanje, aged 23, he has been a bearer of a Nuremberg Fair award since 2011. His idea about a candle base (see photo) came about during power cuts in Viana, where he resides, and his interest in protecting the environment through the means of recycling the wax. 22 Bitombokele L. Gomes O que é? What? – Tunga: new Mandombe construction technology. Porquê? Why? – For resolving the habitation problems in African villages. Como? How? – Works based on a new type of building block that slots in with a 50% degree of safety. O Mandombe é um sistema de pensamento africano desenvolvido por David Wabeladio (RDC), em 1978, que foi professor deste (de castanho, à esquerda). A medalha de bronze arrebatada na IENA, Alemanha, deveu-se às novas implicações, dentre as quais o Tunga – a tecnologia de construção Mandombe. What? – System to repair planes in midflight and put out fires. Porquê? Why? – To avoid planes crashing. I like planes and I seek to take advantage of that which can be resolved. Como?
