39th ANNUAL HERITAGE DAYS
“Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church will
sponsor their 39th Annual Heritage Days celebration on
Saturday, August 6th from 5:00 pm to Midnight and on
Sunday, August 7th, from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.
Admission is free. Lebanese Heritage Days will be held
rain or shine.”
2016 National NFP Awareness Week is
celebrated on July 24-30.
God designed marriage as an "intimate
partnership of life and love" (see Gaudium et spes,
no. 48). In God's design, marriage is a unique union
of one man with one woman "for the whole of
life" (see Canon 1055, The Code of Canon Law).
Marriage is oriented to the good of the spouses and
to the creation and nurture of new human life (see
Gaudium et spes, no. 48). Making decisions therefore,
about when and how many children to have in
marriage is a sacred responsibility that God has
entrusted to husband and wife. This is the foundation
of what the Church calls, "Responsible Parenthood"-the call to discern God's will for your marriage while
respecting His design for life and love.
The Catholic Church supports the methods of
Natural Family Planning (NFP) because they
respect God's design for married love. In fact, NFP
represents the only authentic approach to family
planning available to husbands and wives because
these methods can be used to both attempt or avoid
pregnancy.

highly scientific method of NFP called Creighton
Model of Fertility Care. These wonderful people

Um grande obrigado a Rick Flores por todo o seu
trabalho na transição para o nosso novo boletim. Ele
negociou o contrato e ajudou a projetar o novo visual
junto com o Editor do Boletim, Olga Rodriguez e a
nossa secretário Nelsida Liriano. Esta é uma grande
poupanca para a paróquia para os próximos anos!

2016 National NFP (Natural Family Planning) Awareness Week é
comemorado entre os dias 24 e 30 de Julho.
Deus planejou o casamento como uma "íntima comunidade de vida e
amor" (veja a Gaudium et spes, n.48). No desígnio de Deus, o
casamento é uma união exclusiva de um homem com uma mulher
"para toda a vida" (ver Canon 1055, O Código de Direito Canônico). O
Casamento é orientado para o bem dos cônjuges e à criação de uma
nova vida humana (ver Gaudium et spes, n. 48). Tomada de decisões
sobre quando e quantos filhos ter no casamento é uma
responsabilidade sagrada que Deus confiou ao marido e mulher. Esta é
a base do que a Igreja chama, "paternidade responsável" - a chamada
para discernir a vontade de Deus para o seu casamento, respeitando
Seu projeto para a vida e o amor.
A Igreja Católica apoia os métodos de Planejamento Familiar Natural
(PFN), porque eles respeitam o projeto de Deus para o amor conjugal.
Na verdade, NFP representa a única abordagem autêntica ao
planejamento familiar disponível para maridos e esposas, porque
estes métodos podem ser usados para tentar ou evitar a gravidez.

OBRIGADO PELA VOSSA GENEROSIDADE
QUE DEUS VOS ABENÇOE
Jesus estava orando num certo lugar… ‘Senhor, ensina-nos a orar’
Hoje, Jesus em oração nos ensina a orar. Prestemos atenção no que sua atitude nos ensina. Jesus Cristo experimenta em
muitas ocasiões a necessidade de encontrar-se cara a cara com seu Pai. Lucas, em seu Evangelho, insiste sobre este
ponto.
Sobre que falavam naquele dia? Não sabemos. No entanto, em outra ocasião, nos chegou um fragmento de conversação
entre seu Pai e Ele. No momento em que foi batizado no rio Jordão, quando estava orando, «E do céu veio uma voz: ‘Tu
és o meu filho amado; em ti está meu pleno agrado’» (Lc 3,22). No parêntese de um diálogo ternamente afetuoso.
Quando, no Evangelho de hoje, um dos discípulos, ao observar seu recolhimento, lhe implora que lhes ensine a falar com
Deus, Jesus responde: «Quando ores, diga: ‘Pai, santificado seja teu nome…’» (Lc 11,2). A oração consiste em uma
conversação filial com esse Pai que nos ama com loucura. Não definia Teresa de Ávila a oração como “uma íntima
relação de amizade”: «estando muitas vezes tratando a sós com quem sabemos que nos ama»?
Bento XVI encontra «significativo que Lucas situe o Pai-nosso no contexto da oração pessoal do próprio Jesus. Desta
forma, Ele nos faz participar de sua oração; conduz-nos ao interior do diálogo íntimo do amor trinitário; ou seja, levanta
nossas misérias humanas até o coração de Deus».
É significativo que, na linguagem cotidiana, a oração que Jesus Cristo nos ensinou se resume nestas duas únicas palavras:
«Pai Nosso». A oração cristã é eminentemente filial.
A liturgia católica põe esta oração nos nossos lábios no momento em que nos preparamos para receber o Corpo e o
Sangre de Jesus Cristo. As sete petições que permite e a ordem em que estão formuladas nos dão uma ideia da conduta
que devemos de manter quando recebamos a Comunhão Eucarística.

2016 Semana de Conciencia Nacional del NFP
es celebrada el 24-30 de julio.
Dios diseñó el matrimonio como un "una vida
intima de pareja de vida y amor" (vea Gaudium
et spes, no. 48). En el diseño de Dios, el
matrimonio es una unión única de un hombre con
una mujer "por toda la vida" (vea Canon 1055, El
Código de la Ley de Canon). El matrimonio está
orientado al bien de los esposos y a la creación y
nutrición de nuevos ser humanos (vea Gaudium et
spes, no. 48). Haciendo decisiones por lo
tanto, de cuándo y cuántos hijos tener en el
matrimonio es una sagrada responsabilidad que
Dios ha confiado al esposo y la esposa. Esta es la
fundación de lo que la Iglesia llama,
"Responsabilidad de Paternidad"--el llamado a
discernir la voluntad de Dios para su matrimonio
mientras respetando Su diseño para la vida y el
amor.
La Iglesia Católica apoya el método de
