EPM can only be vulcanisedby peroxidesor
radiation; whereasEPDM can be vulcanised
conventionally using sulphur.
PROPERTIES
. E.P'shaveexcellentinherent high and low
temperatureranges. Typically -49F to +248F for
standardcompounds.
Specialcompounding can increasesome grades
to function continually at +284F.
. E.P'sare inherently resistantto attack by oxygen,
uv, Ozone and extremeweather environments,
and will give long servicein theseconditions.
. E.P'shavevery good electrical and low
permeability characteristics,aswell as good
stability in radiation conditions.
. E.P'sdo not havegood adhesionproperties and
expert advice should be sought from our
Technical Department about bonding

. E.P'shavelack of tack so adhesionto metal and
textiles is.moderare.When a bonding application
is required you should contact our Technical
Departament for advice.
RESISTANCE TO CHEMICALS
. E.P's are resistantto many chemicalsand solvents
particularly water, phosphateethers,ketones,
alcoholsand various acids and alkalis.
. E.P'shavegood resistanceto many corrosive
chemicals,most inorganic chemical products,
mineral acids,detergentsand glycol.
. The performanceof E.P'sin hot water and high
pressuresteamis better than in dry heat.
