The Athletic equipment and services offer people guidance, motivation and the opportunity of practicing aerobic and muscular exercises, and so gaining the physical preparation required to feel good. THE INDIVIDUAL AND THE PHYSICAL PREPARATION. Physical preparation is an option of the individual to benefit himself or herself. In many cases the quest for having the right physical form to live the day-to-day life well appears to be a sacrifice at first. It is important to understand that those people who do not try to have suitable physical form are gradually giving up their long-term well-being. As the person invests in physical preparation and rediscovers the pleasure of firm and sure movement, of having strength and resistance to face the day-to-day, he or she understands that it is a fundamental condition for living well and ensuring his or her physical and mental health. In order to have a preparation which provides full, safe and pleasurable activity, the individuality of each person must be preserved. As Athletic sees it, the best way of ensuring this is to teach the individual about monitoring his or her heartbeat range, in the case of aerobic preparation, and about the suitable combination of exercises and loads in muscular physical preparation. Aerobic physical preparation will ensure resistance. Muscular preparation will ensure strength. Regardless of one's age, it is important to be aware that living well involves maintaining one's resistance and strength throughout one's life. In this manual you will find everything which you need to know about assembling and maintaining the equipment which you have just acquired, as well as the information about how to use it correctly. The heartbeat sensor is a resource that merely indicates the general heartbeat tendency of a person. 26 EXTREME 3650T TARGET HEARTBEAT RANGE - The monitoring of the heartbeat range is still little known, but it is a very efficacious resource for obtaining results. It should be used especially in aerobic physical preparation. - As shown in the table below, each age range corresponds to a heartbeat range, i.e. a minimum limit and a maximum limit of heartbeats in the period of executing the exercise. It is only when a person works within this range of heartbeats that he or she really begins to produce results as regards his or her aerobic physical preparation. TARGET HEARTBEAT RANGE AGE 25 YEARS (Example) Maximum heart frequency - 195 bpm* Target heartbeat range - min. 117 bpm* until max. 156 bpm* AGE 55 YEARS (Example) Maximum heart frequency - 165 bpm* Target heartbeat range - min. 99 bpm* until max. 132 bpm* *Beats per minute Check our site at www.athletic.com.br to learn more about our exclusive on-line personal trainer service and do your physical evaluation. For this purpose use an Allen wrench and adjust the position on the rear roll. BELT CENTERING PROCEDURE For your own safety do not use loose clothing, tie or loose jewelry that could affect this adjustment. Never turn the screws more than ¼ of a turn at a time. Always tighten one side and loosen the other to avoid making the belt too tight or too loose. Treadmill operation. Adjust the belt with the treadmill running at 4 Mi/H (6.4 Km/H), but without anyone on the belt. After adjusting, walk on the treadmill for four minutes to test it. If necessary repeat the procedure. Excessive tightening of the belt can compromise the useful life of the equipment. IF THE BELT IS TOO FAR TO THE LEFT Turn the left roll screw ¼ turn in clockwise direction (tighten) Turn the right roll screw ¼ in anti-clockwise direction (loosen) IF THE BELT IS TOO FAR TO THE RIGHT Turn the right roll screw ¼ turn in clockwise direction (tighten) Turn the left roll screw ¼ in anti-clockwise direction (loosen) 40 EXTREME 3650T ADJUSTING BELT TENSION If you feel a slipping sensation when stepping on the belt, this means the belt is loose and is slipping on the rolls. All belts get loose with time. This is normal and it’s normal to perform adjustments to any treadmill. To eliminate slipping turn the screws on the rear roll ¼ turn as shown. Test the belt again to check slipping. Repeat procedure if necessary, but never turn the screws more than ¼ turn at a time. As a precaution, call an authorized technician if the belt continues to slip after being adjusted. This is the only person who can correct belt tensioning. LUBRICATING THE DECK A well lubricated deck will ensure treadmill high performance and will reduce wear to the components. This treadmill was pre-lubricated at the factory. However, to improve performance it may need periodical lubrication. To check lubrication level, just lift up the belt and reach your hand in as far to the center as you can. If you hand shows signs of silicone there is no need for additional lubrication. If the board is dry and there is little sign of silicone on your hand then there is a need for additional lubrication. Your product should be lubricated every 10 hours of use. TO LUBRICATE THE DECK Know the silicone bottle that come with product. A – Silicone bottle B – Nozzle extender C – Lock D – Cover Follow steps before to lubricate the deck: 1. Stop the belt so that the seam is facing upwards and in the center of the deck. 2. Insert the nozzle of the lubricant bottle can into the disperser. Take out the lock. 3. Place the nozzle between the belt and the board approximately 200mm (8”) from the front of the treadmill. Hold the bottle on vertical position 4. Apply the silicone from the front to the back of the treadmill on each side. Try to reach the center of the deck. Spray application time must be about four seconds per side. 41 EXTREME 3650T 5. Spread the silicone by running the treadmill at 1Km/h and step delicately on the treadmill from left to right. Do this for some minutes to enable the silicone to spread on the belt. DANGER! To reduce the risk of electrical shock, always remove the cable from the socket immediately after use and before cleaning. MOTOR BELT ADJUSTMENT Before any equipment leaves the factory the belt will be adjusted to the correct position, but after a certain time in operation the belt can become loose. ADJUSTMENT STAGE ATTENTION: Turn off the machine when adjusting the motor belt. Periodically clean the leather belt and around the grooves. Use a wrench to adjust the belt through the adjustment screw. 42 EXTREME 3650T TROUBLE SHOOTING Problem Treadmill does not work Suddenly stop Button key no function E1 E2 E3 E4 Possible cause Corrective actions a .No connect to power supply Plug into socket b.
