Synopsis
A visually poetic show, where some of the most emblematic work pieces of Van
Gogh are suggested.
Vincent Van and Gogh are the three characters that occupy a space with
painting brushes, canvas, hats and easels.
Under the relationship and game established between these characters and the
objects, people who and situations that marked Van Gogh’s life and work rise
out.
The narrative is not chronologically linear, which allows scenic situations that
take us to ambiences of delirium, restlessness and upset, sometimes
associated to some irony and humour. The show therefore swings between
drama and comedy, reality and imagination, between life and art.
This creation is also a humble homage to the Dutch painter who turned into the
paradigm of the “devilish artist” who does not see his work recognised; to the
man whose life is the story of a failure, at first searching for the religious truth
and later on searching for the art. Van Gogh ended alone, sick and – some
people say – even mad, until he committed suicide, when he was 37 years old,
in Auvers-sur-Oise, France.
