Na esteira dos anos anteriores, o Plano Filatélico dos CTT Correios
de Portugal para 2014 continua a apostar nas mais importantes
efemérides nacionais e internacionais que se cumprem nesse ano, mas
não esquecendo as emissões mais dedicadas a temáticas que todos os
filatelistas desejam.
Desta forma celebraremos em selo vários centenários e seus múltiplos,
entre eles os 150 anos do Instituto Geofísico de Coimbra, um dos
primeiros observatórios da Europa dedicados ao estudo da Terra; os
400 anos da publicação da Peregrinação de Fernão Mendes Pinto,
um saboroso relato de viagens no Oriente; a famosa embaixada de D.
Manuel I ao Papa, que permitiu à Europa de então ver pela primeira vez
elefantes e rinocerontes; o nascimento do grande anatomista Vesalius
(em emissão conjunta com os colegas dos Correios belgas); os 500 anos
da Diocese do Funchal; os 800 anos do Notariado em Portugal; para
culminar com a celebração dos 8 Séculos da Língua Portuguesa, que será
glosada igualmente em selo por outros países e territórios da lusofonia
para além de Portugal.
De entre as séries mais viradas para uma certa temática teremos “Os
aviões que os Açores conhecem”; “Jardins e Miradouros de Portugal”;
“ A Rota das Catedrais”, que aqui encerra o ciclo; “Tapeçarias de
Portalegre”; “ O Café nas Coleções do Instituto de Investigação Científica
e Tropical”; e obviamente a Emissão “EUROPA 2014”, neste ano dedicada
a Instrumentos Musicais.
O Ano Internacional da Cristalografia permitirá magníficos selos com
belas imagens de fractais e outras maravilhas da moderna ciência.
O Portugal moderno é evocado com base na celebração dos “40 Anos
do 25 de Abril”, a nossa Revolução dos cravos , e ainda através de uma
série dedicada aos três grandes prémios internacionais da arquitetura
lusa: Ribeiro Telles, Siza Vieira e Souto de Moura.
Os Patrimónios da UNESCO, Fortificações de Elvas e Universidade de
Coimbra, permitirão dar a conhecer através dos selos particularidades
interessantes da nossa história, bem como criar a vontade de visitar
aqueles locais tão especiais.
A emissão-base começa em 2014 um novo ciclo, desta vez dedicado
aos Desportos Radicais. Teremos surf, parapente, escalada e outros
desportos que se praticam cada vez mais em Portugal e no Mundo.
São estes muito bons motivos para escolher os selos portugueses em 2014!

In the wake of the previous years, the Philatelic Plan of CTT Correios
de Portugal (Portuguese Postal Operator) for 2014 continues to
focus on the most important national and international ephemerides
that will take place that year, without forgetting the stamp issues
dedicated to themes desired by every philatelist.
We will thus celebrate, in the form of a stamp, several centenarians
and their multiples, including the 150th anniversary of the
Geophysical Institute of Coimbra, one of the first observatories in
Europe dedicated to the study of the Earth; the 400th anniversary
of the publication of “Peregrinação” (Pilgrimage) by Fernão Mendes
Pinto, a delightful report on travels through the Orient; the famous
embassy of D. Manuel I to the Pope, which allowed the Europe
of those days to see elephants and rhinos for the first time; the
birth of the great anatomist Vesalius (in a joint issue together with
the fellow Belgian Postal Operators); the 500th anniversary of the
Diocese of Funchal; the 800th anniversary of Notaries in Portugal;
culminating in the celebration of the 8 Centuries of Portuguese
Language, which will also be glossed in a stamp by other
Portuguese-speaking countries and territories besides Portugal.
Among the series more inclined to a certain theme, we will have
"The planes that the Azores knows"; "Gardens and Belvederes
of Portugal"; and "The Route of the Cathedrals", where the cycle
closes; "Portalegre Tapestry"; "Coffee in the Collections of the
Institute of Scientific and Tropical Research"; and obviously the
Issue "EUROPE 2014", this year dedicated to Musical Instruments.
The International Year of Crystallography will result in magnificent
stamps with beautiful images of fractals and other wonders of
modern science.
Modern Portugal is invoked, based on the celebration of the "40th
anniversary of April 25th", our carnation revolution, and also through a
series dedicated to the three major international awards in Portuguese
architecture: Ribeiro Telles, Siza Vieira and Souto de Moura.
Through stamps, the UNESCO Heritage, the Fortifications of Elvas
and the University of Coimbra will reveal interesting peculiarities of
our history as well as create the desire to visit those places that
are so special.
The base-issue begins a new cycle in 2014, now dedicated to Extreme
Sports. We will have surf, paragliding, rock climbing and other sports
that are increasingly practiced in Portugal and in the world.
These are very good reasons for choosing Portuguese stamps in 2014!
