Title: Novel therapeutic tools for Machado-Joseph Disease: Lessons from molecular interaction IBMC/i3S is opening 1 (one) Postdoctoral Fellowship to join its Research Program in to join the Biomolecular Structure and Function Group (http://www.i3s.up.pt/research-groups/hostinteraction-and-response-neurobiology-and-neurologic-disorders/biomolecular), working on the structure and function of proteins associated with neurodegenerative diseases. We are looking for a Fellow holding a PhD in Biochemistry or related fields with experience and full autonomy in working in recombinant protein expression and purification, protein structural analysis and biophysical characterization of protein-protein interactions. English language, both spoken and written, and good inter-personal relationships in the context of a multidisciplinary research team are essential attributes. Preference will be given to candidates with these characteristics. Work Plan: The successful candidate will integrate the Biomolecular Structure and Function group headed by Dr. Sandra de Macedo Ribeiro. The candidate will join a team working on the structural and functional characterization of macromolecular interactions in proteins associated with neurodegenerative diseases. The work will be developed at Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde - i3S, Porto, Portugal. The Postdoctoral Fellowship will be for 12 months, not renewable, and it is expected to start in August 1st 2016. The fellowship amount is 1495 euros, paid by bank transfer, preferentially.
