NEWS FROM THE VIA ALGARVIANA PROJECT
STARTS THE 5TH VIA
ALGARVIANA CROSSING
On March 24 we started one more crossing of
Via Algarviana, around 9 am near the Cape of
St. Vincent, for the pedestrian mode. The
group's first day had about 30 participants; so
far we have about 130 inscriptions.
The initiative is
sponsored
by
some
companies: REN, Vila Vita Parc, Grupo de
Montanhismo “Sempre por Maus Caminhos”
da CGD,CIMPOR, as well the support of
Apolónia Supermercados, some municipalities
and parish councils partners, Extremo Sul,
MegaSport, GRIDE, Jaffers supermercados,
Moinho de Cachopo, Frutas Guerreiro,
Associação Orelhas Sem Fronteiras and
Quinta da Brejeira. Our thanks!

NEWS – Birdwatching Festival
In order to structure the third edition of the
Birdwatching Festival of Sagres, was made the
1st working meeting with local partners.
Anabela Santos (Almargem Association) and
Alexandra Lopes (SPEA) had provided some of
the news and discussed various points of
interest for the partners. Of the 15 partners
present, from accommodation, catering, bars
and touristic animation companies, a good
number of ideas and proposals emerged. The
meeting was very productive. Stay tuned, we
will begin to reveal some of the news soon!

WE WERE PRESENT IN …
- At the invitation of the CRIA – in the context
of Knowing project, the Via Algarviana made a
presentation in the auditorium of the School
of Management, Hospitality and Tourism,
University of Algarve. The presentation was
held at 12 hours, at the seminar 'Tourism and
the Cultural and Creative Industries in the
Algarve'.
The purpose of the visit of the Hon. Secretary
of State for Environment and Spatial Planning Dr. Pedro Afonso de Paulo, to the Algarve, took
place on March 8, at the premises of the
Foundation Manuel Viegas Guerreiro, on
Querença, the presentation of innovative
projects that contribute to the development of
the Algarve inland.
At the invitation of the Foundation, the
Association Almargem presented the project Via
Algarviana and at the end was made an
invitation to the Hon. Secretary of State for
Environment and Spatial Planning for the
Department of State grant his patronage to the
project Via Algarviana, the invitation was
accepted immediately and on site.
