Pastor’s Note
Dear Parishioners,
Sacramental Information
Baptism
I would like to share with you Blessed Mother Teresa's 7
Steps to a holier life, to a peaceful life. May her words
penetrate your heart and encourage you for the remaining
days of this Lenten season.
Step 1: Slow down.
"I think the world today is upside down. Everybody seems
to be in such a terrible rush, anxious for greater development and greater riches and so on. There is much suffering because there is so very little love in homes
and in family life. We have no time for our children,
we have no time for each other; there is no time to
enjoy each other. In the home begins the
disruption of the peace of the world."
Step 2: Make some room.
"If you are discouraged it is a sign of pride because it
shows you trust in your own power. Your self-sufficiency,
your selfishness and your intellectual pride will inhibit His
coming to live in your heart because God cannot fill what
is already full. It is as simple as that."
Step 3: Open your eyes.
"Each one of them is Jesus in disguise."
Contact the Parish office to arrange for baptismal preparation. Baptisms are celebrated monthly except during Lent.
Spanish Prep Class: 1st Mon at 7 pm; Baptism: 3rd Sat at 10 am
English Prep Class: 2nd Mon at 7 pm; Baptism: 4th Sat at 10 am
Weddings
Arrangements need to be made at least six months in
advance. Call the Parish office.
Rosary
The Rosary is recited daily after the 8 am Mass and
before the 5:30 pm Mass on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The Hispanic Community has a Rosary Hour every
Monday at 6 pm in the Rectory Chapel.
Step 7: Leave the rest to Jesus.
"Be humble and you will never be disturbed. It is very
difficult in practice because we all want to see the result
of our work.
Leave it to Jesus."
Fr. Tad
Step 4: Put great love into the small things.
"In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do
small things with great love."
Step 5: Do not tire.
"Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be
extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting
tired."
Step 6: Remember - it's faithfulness, not success.
"God doesn't ask that we succeed in everything, but that
we are faithful. However beautiful our work may be, let us
not become attached to it. Always remain prepared to
give it up, without losing your peace."

Passing On Our Faith Traditions - Paty Rascón
Parents pass on so many traditions and habits to their
kids like washing hands before meals, buckling the car
seatbelt, brushing teeth after meals or going to
grandma’s house for Thanksgiving. Our faith traditions
are the most important traditions to pass on; however,
nowadays parents are too busy trying to catch up with
work and school activities that they do not expose their
children to our faith traditions or make church a part of
their every day life.
Besides praying before bed or bringing them to Mass
every Sunday, Palm Sunday and all Holy Week Services
are great opportunities for children to experience our
Catholic Traditions. Please bring your children to the
blessing of the palms and procession on Palm Sunday,
or to the Holy Thursday washing of the feet, or to the
Good Friday adoration of the Holy Cross and Outdoor
Stations of the Cross, or to the Easter Vigil, which is the
most beautiful liturgy, where the Pascal Candle is
blessed and lit from the new fire during the Light
Service.
"For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to
you...." (1 Cor 11:23)
The flower does not bear the root,
but the root the flower . . . The rose is
merely the evidence of the vitality of the root.

HERE COMES THE SCIENCE FAIR!
The St. Clare Science Fair is taking place, March 15-17, in
the St. Clare Parish Hall. We have students in grades K –
8 demonstrating their knowledge of the Scientific Method
by performing a variety of experiments, and sharing what
they learned. This year we will feature slide presentations
from some of the middle school students as well.
All projects are to be brought to the hall Tuesday morning,
March 15th, between 7:15 and 8:00AM. There will be an
opportunity for family and friends to view the projects on
Wednesday, March 16th from 3:30pm to 6:30pm.

THE DENTIST VISITS THE PRIMARY GRADES
Kindergarten, first and second grade had a wonderful
experience on Friday, February 26, as dentist, Dr. Puzin
came with his assistant and taught the students all about
how to keep our teeth healthy. He mentioned what foods
and drinks were good for us and which ones were not
good for our teeth. Some of the students got to dress up
as teeth, a dentist and floss to help explain what he was
teaching. At the end, every student received a coloring
book about healthy teeth as well as a goodie bag that
included a toothbrush and more!

Scripture Readings
for THIS Sunday
First Reading: Isaiah 43:16-21
Second Reading: Philippians 3:8-14
Gospel Reading: John 8:1-11
STRAIGHT LINES
“God writes straight with crooked lines,” the saying
goes. The power of Paul’s testimony that everything is
junk but knowledge of Jesus and the power of his resurrection is a straight enough message. And, God knows,
Paul had a crooked journey before his blinding insight
straight from God.
Through Isaiah, God reminds us all that the past
great works were as nothing compared to the new creation. “Can’t you see it?” we are asked, as if we are still
wandering along our crooked lines.
And there is no straighter line than that between the
woman whose misery is intense and the God whose mercy in Jesus is deeper and more acute. You just can’t beat
this kind of good news.

Boletín Parroquial Español
Tradiciones de Nuestra Fe
“”Nem Eu te condeno. Vai e não tornes a pecar.” Assim
— Fray Gilberto Cavazos-Glz, OFM, Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
