A. Context:
The Government of Brazil has blocked almost all hotels for Government
delegations, and rooms available have prices far beyond usual ITUC
recommendations. (350-600 USD a night)
The only reasonable alternative accommodation is to rent an apartment. Many
governmental delegates and UN Agencies are doing this as well.
B. What can you do?
Judith and Julianna from Sustainlabour have gone through an intense search to
see what is available and we are passing along the outcomes of the search.

C. In which part of the city should you book?
People are mainly booking in the two regions indicated on the map at the end of
the document:


Copacabana: Easy access to People’s Summit by metro. There are actually
three metro stops. Shuttles should be made available from the last metro
stop to the UN conference center (Riocentro), which is 35 km far.
Barra Tijuca: Closer to UN conference center (Riocentro) from 1 to 10 km.
But further from People’s Summit. There is no metro.
There should be shuttle buses to go from one place to the other; we will pass
along this information as soon as we have it.
