Iron with high chrome content (hyper-eutectic).
Properties
High resistance to abrasion in medium to high impact conditions.
Machinability
Only grinding.
Cutting
Cannot be cut with oxy-acetylene flame, only plasma arc or laser.
Bending
Can be rolled or pressed cold within limits.
Applications
Versatile product with applications in many industries.

Abra clad plate in its manufactured state does not present any hazard, however, when
it is being processed the following precautions should be taken.

Cutting
ABRA-CrC plate can be cut by Plasma Arc or Carbon / Air Gouging and the necessary
fume / dust protection should be used to satisfy an 8 hr TWA of 0,5mg/m3. Use of a
waterbed is recommended where possible.
Grinding
When grinding Abra 60, the operator should be protected to an 8 hr TWA of 0,5mg/m3
Rolling or Pressing
Rolling or pressing should be done very gradually as the hardfacing does not
significantly deform. Minimum radii is achieved by rolling or pressing in the wells bead
direction. High loading on one edge can result in chipping of the hardfacing. The rolling
or pressing of 9mm or thinner plate is not recommended.

The recommended limit for fume is 5.0mg/m3. Individual limits are
