Agatha Christie`s lesson in crime
Agatha Christie's lesson in crime
I liked the play because it was interesting, my favourite moment was when the
characters sang and danced because it was very beautiful. The actors were very
good, they played well the roles of the different characters .
The most surprising moment was when the daughter Cecily admitted the killings
and she killed Reggie Danvers, and also when we discovered that Reggie Danvers
and Miss Pierce were together and they were accomplices in the plot .
I liked the sound effects and the music in many scenes, it created a strange
atmosphere which corresponds to the story .
There were many funny moments and the actors were excellent, I would
recommend this play because it's beautifully staged, interesting and surprising.

Agatha Christie's Lesson in crime
My favourite moment is when we saw a hand put the poison into the
drink of Mr Throckmorton. In my opinion, the best actress is Cecily
because she sounds like a good girl, but the more the story unfolds the
more we see that she is not what we thought.
I didn't like the fact that the actors were changing in front of us because
I think it took away some of the magic. I think the play was scary and
funny because the actors were humorous and very serious at the same
time. In general, I enjoyed this play. I would recommend this play
because it's easy to understand, funny and there is also a bit of
suspense.

Place: Salle des Fêtes-Morangis
Date: March 16th, 2011 at. 10 a.m.
Realized and staged by Ken Starcevic (Company Oz)
Played by Stéphanie Germonpré and Ken Starcevic.
I think "Agatha Christie’s lesson in crime" was a funny show, full of suspense and
rich in new developments.
It was a show with original scenes, as when the "Mysterious foreigner" Vikram
Sawnhey began dancing an Indian dance! It was rather funny! The most original
scene was when Cecily Throckmorton and Reginald Danvers sang and danced then
when Miss Pierce and Reginald Danvers also danced! We could say that it is a
musical comedy.
I loved Miss Hetherington and Tallulah Carlisle played by the actress Stéphanie
Germonpré, and I appreciated a lot Vikram Sawnhey, and Reginald Danvers, played
by Ken Starcevic.
I would recommend this play to a friend because it is funny, surprising and especially
because the actors gave us their best .
During the play the actors changed in front of us, it gave us a taste of what takes
place behind the scenes in the other plays.
I was lucky to discuss with Stéphanie Germonpré, who informed me that she has
been an actress for 12 years and that during this performance she had liked a lot
playing Miss Hetherington.
It was a very beautiful show and very beautiful direction! The biggest asset of the
show and of the company Oz is: humour.

Review of the play Agatha Christie's Lesson in Crime
I liked the play Agatha Christie's Lesson in Crime, this play shows an
imaginary meeting between Agatha Christie and Alfred Hitchcock. I
really liked the character of Miss Hetherington, the neighbour because
she is very funny.
In the play, I liked when the murderer was discovered, this is my
favourite moment because it is very surprising, for me it is the most
surprising moment.
For me the most original scene is when the characters sing and dance: it
is original because it is a detective story. The atmosphere was very
good , I think the play was funny and surprising. I would recommend
this play because it is a beautiful play, I liked it particularly because I
played the detective before with the clues, but I had not found the real
murderer.

Agatha Christie’s Lesson in Crime
The performance of the play “Agatha Christie’s Lesson in Crime” took place on
Wednesday 16th. It was very good; the actors, Ken and Stéphanie, were incredible
and amazing. My favourite character was Reginald Danvers, the fiancé, because he
had a secret relationship with Miss Pierce, so he was dishonest to his fiancée Cecily
Throckmorton and he was sharp. I loved the moment when Cecily shot her father
and her fiancé because it was surprising. The most original scene was the moment
when Vickram Sawnhey “danced” with his strange costume, it was funny. I think the
play was intriguing because there was suspense all the time . I would recommend
this play to those who like suspense, songs and funny moments.

Agatha Christie
In general, I liked the play, especially the ending because we can't imagine Cecily
killed anyone. The staging of the play was good but I didn't like seeing the actors
change their costumes on stage because we watched more the actor changing his or
her costume and less the actor playing. For me the best actor was the man, he
played his characters very well, but my favourite character was Cecily. She kept her
cards close to her chest. I would recommend this play to people learning English or
else I wouldn't recommend especially this play because the story wasn't very
interesting.

On Wednesday March 16th 2011, we saw, with all the “secondes”, a play in
English entitled Agatha Christie's Lesson in Crime.
First, I liked this play because the tone was funny. I liked the fact that there
was an investigation and an enigma all along the play.
Then, I admired the talent of the actors who were only two and played
different roles at once. I also liked the fact that Agatha Christie and Alfred
Hichcock commented on the action. The decor was simple but warm. Then
my favorite moment was the outcome because we could finally know who had
killed Leticia Throckmorton, the “whodunit”.
To conclude I recommend this play because I think it was funny and
surprising. This play mingled drama, song and suspense. A pleasant
entertainment.

Agatha Christie’s Lesson in Crime
My favourite moment was the death of Tallulah because I like the murders. My
favourite scene was when the detective danced because for me it was really funny.
My favourite character and the best actress for me is Miss Pierce because I like her
demonic side and her other side : nice and loving with Reggie.
However I didn’t like the costumes because for me they were really too original. I
didn't like the set either because it was the same throughout the scenes.
The most original scene for me is when Agatha Christie gives her lessons on crime.
I think the play was boring because I don't like theatre. My feeling when I was in the
audience was boredom because I didn’t understand everything. However I would
recommend this play because everyone can have a different opinion on this play.

Agatha Christie’s Lesson in Crime: Review
I enjoyed the play, it was quite funny and surprising and my favorite moment was
the dance of Vikram Sawnhey and his accent. There were great sound effects but
the music was boring. I liked the old woman Miss Hetherington and the most
surprising moment was the end with the crazy daughter Cecily.
I would recommend this play because there were great sound effects, funny
moments and the end is very surprising.

My favourite moment of the play was when the two actors sang and danced. My
favourite character is the detective because he is the best actor. The romantic
moment of the play is the funniest scene.
I really loved the costumes : it is what makes the play original ; the sound effects
were good; the music was very good too, it went well with their
dancing , the tone was set. My feeling when I was in the audience was panic.
I don't think the play was boring , for me it was funny.

Wednesday, March 16th we saw a play :
There were two actors who performed different roles to play the characters. When
the actors changed their costumes they changed on the stage, we could see behind
the scenes.
Tallulah Carlisle is my favorite character because she was lively and dynamic. This
character dies drinking a drink containing poison.
I thought the show was funny: there was music and dancing but at times there was
suspense too.
I would recommend this play to a friend because it’s interesting and nice, and I had
a great time.

The review of "Agatha Christie's Lesson in Crime"
My favorite moment was when Cecily confessed that she was the
murderer of the four victims because it’s surprising and it’s the
moment when we finally discover “whodunit”. I think the play was
boring at certain moments because I didn’t understand, and funny
when they sang and danced because it was exaggerated. Finally the
woman was the best actress because she changed her voice when
she changed characters, she was dynamic and funny.
Manon M.
My favourite character of the play certainly is Miss Pierce, the personal assistant of
Lord Throckmorton, because she is a very mysterious person : she is very strict in
her job but so passionate with her lover : she has a double life.
In the play, I liked when there were some pauses when Alfred Hitchcock and Agatha
Christie explained the situation and asked questions for the continuation of the
story. The actors were very nice and the costumes were very important to
understand the situations. I liked the sound effects between the songs and the
digital effects too, it was very interesting!
The originality of the play was to develop an atmosphere of surprise, suspense and
fear. I think the play was funny and surprising. I would certainly recommend this
play because it's a good staging and I had a good time.

Agatha Cristie’s Lesson in Crime
The play «Agatha Christie’s Lesson in Crime » was good, in my opinion, because I
find the actors act very well to play Agatha Christie or Alfred Hitchcock and because
they play many roles, many characters.
My favourite scene was when Miss Pierce and Reggie Danvers danced. The actors
have different costumes, one for each character. The set was original. My favourite
character is Alfred Hitchcock because he’s funny. I think the play was surprising
because at the end, the killer was the little girl, nobody expected that ! I would
recommend this play because it’s original, funny and surprising.

I enjoyed this play: I think it was very funny because the actor and the actress put
some emotions in their roles. My favourite character was Lord Throckmorton
because he is the stereotype of the rich old man, but I liked Vikram Sawnhey too
because he was very strange and funny. I think the man who played the masculine
roles played a little better than the woman.
For me, the most original scene was when we saw a hand with a glove put the
poison into the alcohol. I think there was just one negative point which is the
moments when the actor and the actress sing because it looks like a musical comedy
and I don't like it at all.
To conclude, I think this play was a good whodunit because the atmosphere was as
gloomy as we like and there was a lot of suspense during all the play.

Review of «Agatha Christie's Lesson in Crime»
I think the play was pretty cool because the characters have their own
personalities, for example Tallulah Carlisle seems to be megalomaniac, and
Lord Harold Throckmorton appears to be selfish and heartless at the
beginning, and then he looks fearful and funny, he has an interesting
personality.
My favourite scene is when Vikram Sawnhey, the detective hired by Tallulah,
makes his strange dance when he is all alone at the Throckmorton's home,
and it's also the most original scene for sure. It's weird to see that the
costumes and attitudes of the actors can give a special atmosphere, and
make this play more realistic. The most surprising scene is the final scene,
when the identity of the murderer is given.
I would recommend this play because the actors play well, and the plot is
quite surprising.

Agatha Christie's Lesson in Crime
The play is based on suspense, who has committed the crime ? To this is
added a touch of humour as the actors sing, dance , etc …
In addition, once the play finished, the actor who played all the male roles,
remained available to answer our questions. I found it really interesting that
the actor for example explains why they changed costumes on stage. I liked
the fact that the two actors play the roles of all characters in the play, and also
when they were changing in front of us, not behind the scene as most of the
time in theatres. The sound effects were awesome. I think the play throughout
was great and very animated, including sound effects, dances and songs
performed by the actors themselves, which I greatly enjoyed. Before going to
see this play I thought there would be no originality, but in fact I found it
surprising and original that Agatha and Alfred explained the scenes . And
then there was a summary of each act. We were fortunate to have the
explanation of the French dialogue if we had misunderstood. I find it really
useful and important to understand well.
Safaa
My favourite moment was when Miss Pierce arrived on stage because her character
is very serious. My favourite character is Reggie because I love this character: he is a
charming and mysterious boy .
Both actors were excellent because every character was different. The sound effects
were done well, they corresponded well to the scenes, and the atmosphere was
terrible and frightening. I think the play was surprising because we did not know who
the killer was and at the end it was the person that we would never have expected.
To conclude, I liked well the play and the actors because they were very good . It's a
play to be seen !

Agatha Christie's lesson in crime.
My favourite moment was when Lord Throckmorton appeared , I found the actor
played well this character. My favourite character is Lord Throckmorton, I preferred
the male actor to the female actress, but she was good too. For me the funniest
moment was the scene when Reggie appeared. The most surprising moment was
when we discovered the murderer, it was surprising Cecily killed her dad. The most
original scene was when Mrs Hetherington came on stage because I don't know why
she was important. I didn't like the moment when the actors changed costumes
because we saw them. The costumes weren't always appropriate. The sound, music
and lighting were good. All in all, I liked this play.

Agatha Christie’s Lesson in crime
I liked the play because there was suspense. My favourite moment was when
Agatha Christie and Alfred Hitchcock were on stage; Alfred was my favourite
character because he was funny since he wanted to kill Agatha. The two actors were
good but I didn’t like when they changed their costumes on stage. The most
surprising moment was when Cecily killed her father. I think the play was funny and
surprising because we are surprised by the end and the duo Agatha-Alfred is funny.
Thomas B.
I've seen the play « Agatha Christie's Lesson in Crime ». I liked
this play and the direction is funny. The idea of changing the
costumes of the actors on the stage is unusual. The funniest
character is Vikram, the private detective, with his body movements
and his strange clothes. The actors are very good actors. The most
surprising moment is when we discover Cecily is the murderer and she
shoots her father and kills Reggie with a knife. The music of the
play creates some emotions in the audience: we feel surprised or
scared. I think is a good play. I recommend it.
Thomas P.
My favourite character
is Alfred Hitchcock
because he loves blood so he wants to kill Agatha Christie, but he fails, and my
favourite moment is when he wants to poison Agatha Christie but she is clever and
she chooses the other cup of tea.
The costumes and the sound effects are perfect and the actors are original. I think the
play was funny and surprising because the characters are very strange especially
Cecily Throckmorton. I would recommend this play because it's in English but it's
very easy to understand and it's very crazy.

Theater review
Agatha Christie’s lesson in crime
For me it’s a good
play because this play is easy
to understand. This play is
easy to understand because
the actors use vocabulary we
know and they are good
actors. I like the play also
because the story is intriguing
and funny. My favourite
moment is when Alfred
Hitchcock gives an explosive
to Agatha Christie when she
has her eyes closed. My
favourite character is Tallulah
Carlisle because she is funny
but Cecily kills her.
The most surprising moment
is when Cecily kills her father.
I like the sound effects
because they are very good. I
would recommend this play
for everyone because this
play is interesting, but I
wouldn’t recommend this
play for people who want to
read The Murder on the
Orient Express because the
actress says the name of the
killer.
