PET - Metrologia e Automação

Intern at PET – Metrologia e Automação, a group formed by 12 students from different engineering areas,
offering technical and managerial training of excellence. Within it, students perfom technical activities under
the guidance of a PhD teacher, with emphasis on teamwork and self-development. All projects developed by
the group seek to apply concepts learned in class, generating innovative solutions for its partners. Regarding
management, PET – Metrologia e automação adopts the BSC (Balanced Scorecard) methodology, although
it’s slightly adapted to fit the purposes of the group
Main Activities:
– Development of multidisciplinary projects
– Management of the ’Circuito de Empreendedorismo’: An entrepreneurship event for the students of
the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina comprised of three days of lectures presented by mentors,
investors and founders of enterprises and a workshop with pitch presentations
– Apresentation of seminars focused on the practice of oratory
Developed Projects:
– Project of an active suspension for a Formula SAE car: participation in the definition of the best
roll configuration, in the development of the mathematical model, in the assembly of the mechanical
modeling with the control method and in the writing of the article
– Project of the robust control method for hydraulic actuators: participation in the construction of the
test bench and in the revision of the mechanical equations
– Project of an automodel controled via WIFI by a smartphone: mechanical project, selection of the
components (e.g. transmission components, steering mechanism) and assembly of the automodel
Acquired Skills:
– Feedback culture, self-development, team work and knowlegde in strategic planning
– Improvement of public speaking
