A MENSAGEM DO MINISTRO
Dez Ilhas no meio de três continentes, uma língua materna cruzada por palavras de todas as línguas; um
arquipélago seco, isto é, nem cabo nem verdes; uma
nação onde a música tradicional é feita com violino e
piano e guitarra de dez cordas, mas também com tambor e cimboa
(instrumento monocorde tocado com um arco).
Entre géneros musicais
como o Funaná, o Batuco, a Morna e a Coladeira estão também a
Mazurca, a Contradança, a Valsa e o
Samba. A literatura insular é
plena de saudade, de diálogo com o mar
e o céu, e marcada pela falta de chuva e
pelo imaginário maravilhoso dos trópicos. A nossa pintura é uma narrativa arcoíris. A nossa gastronomia é gosto de
todos as rotas humanas, desde o sal, à
cana-de-açúcar, a pimenta, o milho, o
arroz, o peixe, o café, o vinho, o queijo, o
licor, o grogue. Ela compila o refinado
que existe em todas as línguas.

Eis Cabo Verde: país que está na

origem da crioulização do
mundo, território marítimo,
passe a expressão, pois está feito de 4033 km de terra contra
700 mil km de mar. Nação global e diasporizada, pois que
conformada de 470 mil habitantes e de quase um milhão de emigrantes e descendestes destes espalhados pelo mundo;
gente caracterizada por sua morabeza, essa expressão de bem receber e servir, de partilhar, de falar
com o sorriso, de amar o diferente e a diferença, de
viver a eternidade com a mesma alegria e a mesma
celebração quotidiana do casamento entre a génesis e o apocalipse.
Em síntese, Cabo Verde é uma cultura onde o quase nada
é convertido diariamente em quase tudo.
AME Cabo Verde : um evento concebido com base no amor, na alma e,
por isso, gerado nas águas do Atlântico. Cabo Verde foi a primeira plataforma transatlântica para o comércio de escravos. A vontade do Governo
de Cabo Verde é converter o mesmo espaço num lugar de intercâmbios positivos baseados na música e na cultura. As raízes das músicas das Américas estão profundamente cravadas em Africa: blues, jazz, musica caribenha
e latino-americana são descendentes dessas misturas.

BEM-VINDOS
Ten islands caught in-between three continents; a mother tongue embracing words from all languages; a dry
archipelago – nor Cape, nor Verde. A nation where traditional
music springs out the sounds of violin, piano, ten string guitar,
but also from the rhythms of drums beats and of one string cimboa.
A wide variety of music styles such as funana, batuco,
morna and coladera, or else mazurka, contredanse, waltz
and samba. Full of sodade and teinted by the endless dialogues with the sky and the sea, the insular literature is stamped with the
lack of rain and the tropical fantasy. Its painting is a narrative rainbow.
And gastronomy reflects the richness of flavors and tastes that follow the path of men to gather in Cabo Verde – salt, sugarcane, pepper, corn, rice, fish, coffee, wine, cheese, liquor, rum… a
true compilation of in terms of tongues refinement.
Such is Cabo Verde, the country that originated
the world’s creolisation - A territory that can be
called coastal considering its ratio of 700000
km² of waters and for only 4033 km² of land. A
globalized and scattered nation, the diaspora
spread around the world representing two third
of the total million and a half Cabo Verdeans.
A population animated by Morabeza in which are expressed a sense of welcoming and sharing, the smiling word, the
love of difference, the joy of living eternity joyfully day after day like weddings
in the Genesis or the Apocalypse.
It is the soul of Cabo Verde and the reason why we have created this event located at sea in the Atlantic area.
Cabo Verde was the first transatlantic turntable of slavery trade. The Ministry of
Culture is now willing to make it a positive exchange point based upon music
and culture.
American music is largely rooted to Africa: Blues, Jazz Caribbean and Latin American music were born from these mix.

AFRICAN MUSIC FORUM
INAUGURATION OF THE SECRETARIAT - At AME 2013, the idea of an African
Music Forum was born. Its objectives are to consolidate and coordinate
the continental music market and promote and facilitate circulation.
During the last 12 months, the Forum was presented at major international music events, it received a great response and immense interest.
The second edition of AME will initiate a further step towards the establishment of the Forum.
