Antes do meu envolvimento com a Nuffield, eu não estava ciente da quantidade de bolsistas
que ocupam papéis significativos no governo e nas lideranças da indústria. Para ser
confrontado com uma reunião de passado e presente Nuffield Scholars deve ser imerso em
uma comunidade de pessoas afins que estão curiosos e comprometidos com a sua indústria
local e internacional, e uns aos outros. É uma experiência poderosa. Eu tive a oportunidade
de ver os candidatos transformarem-se em bolsistas e graduados. Durante este processo, a
transformação profissional e individual é intensa. É a aprendizagem ao longo da vida.
Também temos a oportunidade de trabalhar com a Nuffield Interntional dentro da John
Deere global, para introduzir bolsistas a vários indivíduos-chave dentro de nossa empresa e
para ajudar com visitas nas nossas unidades, quando seus horários e assuntos de
aprofundamento forem em comum.
Ser convidado como representante dos investidores a participar de atividades de
planejamento estratégico, seleção dos candidatos e participar nas conferências, me deu
uma oportunidade de contribuir – de uma pequena forma- para a força organizacional da
Nuffield em longo prazo, e mais importante, para aprender com os bolsistas. A Conferência
Nacional a cada ano oferece aos investidores uma visão extremamente útil em
pensamentos emergentes das gerações atuais e futuras das indústrias agrícolas e
associadas.

Dear Sir or Madam,
Our company is committed to supporting and working with those that use the land to Feed,
Clothe and Shelter the world. Our company is passionate about promoting learning in our
industry sectors. John Deere Australia sees the vision and commitment of the Nuffield
organisation aligned to our commitment in Agriculture and associated sectors, being to
support and develop emerging thought leaders.
It has been our pleasure to be associated with the Nuffield organisation in Australia for the
past years as it gives us an opportunity to support an organisation aligned to our
commitment to the land – to promote the identification and development of future
knowledge leaders in Agriculture and the communities they operate in.
Until my involvement with Nuffield, I was not aware of how many Scholars continue into
significant government and industry leadership roles. To be confronted with a gathering of
past and present Nuffield Scholars is to be immersed in a community of like-minded people
who are curious and committed to their local and international industry, and to each other.
It is a powerful experience. I have had the opportunity to see Scholar applicants, become
Scholars and Graduates. During this process, the individual professional transformation is
powerful. It is lifelong learning.
We have also been able to work within our global organisation to introduce Nuffield
Scholars to various key individuals within our company, or to assist with facility tours when
schedules and research topics align.
Being invited as an investor representative to participate in Strategic Planning Activities,
Candidate Selection and Conferences has given me the opportunity to contribute – if only in
a small way - to the longer term organisational strength of Nuffield, and most importantly to
learn from the Scholars. The National Conference each year provides investors with a
tremendously helpful insight into emerging thinking of current and future generations of
agricultural and associated industries.
