Este projecto consiste na transformação
e ampliação de um edifício de habitação
multi-familiar em apart-hotel. O objectivo
do projecto é criar uma alternativa aos
hotéis, conferindo-lhe um ambiente mais
familiar. Por trás do edifício existente,
construiu-se um novo em que se utilizou
o espaço intersticial entre eles para
desenvolver uma galeria que serve
os apartamentos, permitindo uma
ventilação natural em todo o edifício.
O edifício contempla ainda uma agência
de viagens, um restaurante, um bar,
salas para conferências, e no topo
um bar esplanada sobre Luanda.
The Tropicana apart-hotel project
is the transformation and expansion
of a multi-family residential building
into an apart-hotel. The project's
objective is to develop an alternative
to hotels by creating a more family
style environment.
Behind the existing building, a new
building is constructed, which uses
the interstitial space between them
to form a gallery that serves the
apartments, and allows natural
ventilation throughout the building.
The building also includes a travel
agency, a restaurant, a bar, conference
rooms and a roof top terrace bar
with views over of the city of Luanda.
