2012–2017 (expected)
Area: Graph Mining and Knowledge Extraction
Advisors: Prof. Christos Faloutsos and Prof. Pedro Ribeiro
University of Porto
Integrated Master in Informatics and Computing Engineering, 18.36/20
Oporto
2007–2012
Thesis: Understanding behavior via Inverse Reinforcement Learning
Advisor: Prof. Rosaldo Rossetti
Research Interests
My research is focused on mining patterns and anomalies in static or temporal graphs with applications
to social network analysis and fraud discovery. In my work I apply a variety of standard data mining
and machine learning techniques, but particularly matrix and tensor decompositions or other clustering
methods on high-dimensional data.
Technical skills
Broad knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, Algorithms and Data Structures.
Main Programming Languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Matlab, SQL
Typesettings and Operating Systems: LATEX, Microsoft Office, Windows, Linux
Academic & Research Experience
Carnegie Mellon University and University of Porto Pittsburgh, USA and Porto, Portugal
Graduate Researcher
2012–present
Graduate Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University and University of Porto with Prof. Christos Faloutsos
and Prof. Pedro Ribeiro. My work is focused on the development of algorithms to describe the evolution of
communities on large social network data and on finding patterns and outliers among those communities.
