Important observations In order to better profit from your Portuguese 264 course, it is absolutely necessary to follow some important guidelines. This is what I expect from each student in Portuguese 264: IMPORTANT: In the textbook page IX To the Reader please take notice of the following items: 4 – Gramática …study them at home and thus limit the time spent on grammar in class. 5 – Exercício[4s de verificação – These drills are self-help exercises ….., the student can practice forms by covering the answers and arrive at class with a good working knowledge of the material. 6 – Exercícios orais – The majority ….students are expected to have prepared before coming to class. We will dedicate an average of six classes to each of the units in our textbook starting with lesson 7. Every unit in the book is presented in a uniform manner, which contributes to better use our time in class. Each lesson contains several grammar sections, review exercises, readings, grammar verification exercises, and themes for composition. You will know what to study for our next class if you stay up-to-date with our classes. If you miss class it is your responsibility to find out what is due the next day. GRAMMAR - in each unit grammar explanations and verification exercises must be studied before coming to class. The oral exercises are done in class. Some must be completed as homework and reviewed in class. TEXTS - In addition to the texts in our book we will have other texts of interest to our group in Portuguese 264.
