A tenista russa, Maria Sharapova, é a atual campeã do torneio de Roland Garros 2014, que decorreu em Paris, entre 25 de
maio e 08 de junho. Aos 27 anos e com a 5a posição no ranking
da WTA, Maria vence o torneio francês pela segunda vez (a primeiro foi em 2012), sendo uma das seis mulheres tenistas da
história a conquistar os quatro Grand Slams na sua carreira.
Nicole Pozza, brasileira especialista no mercado do luxo e Diretora do Novo Luxo (www.novoluxo.com), conversou exclusivamente com a musa, que conta a sua relação com o luxo, a moda,
o seu estilo de vida quando não está competindo, para além do
seu relacionamento com as marcas TAG Heuer e Porsche.

Maria Sharapova – Luxo é tempo!
The Russian tennis player, Maria Sharapova, is the defending
champion of the in Roland Garros 2014 tournament, that took
place in Paris from 25th of May and 8th of June. In her 27 years
old and with the 5th position in the ranking of WTA, Maria won the
French tournament for the second time (the first one was in 2012),
being one of the six female tennis player in the history to conquer
four Grand Slams during her career.
Nicole Pozza, Brazilian specialist in the luxury market and director of Novo Luxo (www.novoluxo.com), talked exclusively with
the muse that tells about her relationship with the luxury market, fashion, and her lifestyle when aren’t competing besides
her business relationship with TAG Heuer and Porsche brands.
Nicole Pozza –What does it mean luxury to you?
Maria Sharapova – Luxury is time!
Como descreve a sua trajetória no ténis?
Tudo o que posso dizer é que estou muito feliz por estar
entre as melhores tenistas do mundo e por ter ganho os torneios Grand Slam mesmo após uma cirurgia.
How would you describe your career in tennis?
All I can say is that I’m very happy to be among the best tennis players in the world and and to have won the Grand Slam
tournaments even after surgery.
Quais são seus hobbies?
Gosto de desenhar e ler um bom livro. Também gosto de passar algum tempo no Facebook para conversar com os meus fãs.
What are your hobbies?
I like to draw and to read a good book. I also like to spend
time on Facebook to chat with my fans.
Quais são os seus maiores sonhos?
O sonho que sempre tive era o de me tornar numa campeã de
ténis. Dediquei-me muito para isso e os meus pais fizeram sacrifícios para esse objetivo. Atualmente, o meu sonho é continuar a
jogar e aproveitar muito os torneios. Vencer o torneio de Roland
Garros era um dos meus sonhos e significa muito para mim.
What are your biggest dreams?
The dream I ever had was to become a tennis champion. I
have dedicated a lot to this and my parents made sacrifices for
that propose. Actually my dream is continue to play and enjoy
a lot the tournaments. Winning the Roland Garros tournament
was one of my biggest dreams and it means a lot for me.

Como se caracteriza como pessoa e como profissional?
Simplesmente não desisto! Essa é quem eu sou. Sou a mesma
Maria Sharapova dentro e fora dos courts, exceto que, dentro
destas, sou capaz de me concentrar e focar no jogo. O que acontece ao meu redor não me atinge. Então, talvez quem me conhece fora dos courts, pensa que sou diferente. O que posso dizer
é que trabalho muito, sou sincera e amante do mundo da moda!
O que mais gosta em si?
O meu cérebro!
Qual é a sua opinião sobre a marca TAG Heuer? O que pode
falar sobre o seu relacionamento e parceria com a marca?
É uma honra estar associada a uma marca com tanto prestígio. O meu primeiro Grand Slam vencido chamou a atenção
da media, e a TAG Heuer entrou em contato comigo para ser
embaixadora. Eu já era uma enorme fã dessa marca, e juntar-me a um leque de embaixadores como Uma Thurman e Brad
Pitt, na época, foi uma incrível oportunidade. Consegui entrar
para o mundo da moda por uma grande porta. Construímos
um relacionamento mútuo nesses anos que passaram, e também pude contribuir com desenhos para modelos de óculos,
relógios, e aprendi muito com essas experiências.

How do you characterize yourself as a person and a professional?
I just don’t give up! This is who I am. I’m the same Maria
Sharapova on and off the courts, except that, within these, I
am able to concentrate and focus on the game. What happens
around me doesn’t affect me. What can I say is that I work very
hard, I’m sincere and I’m a lover of the fashion industry.
What do you like most in you?
My brain!

Em poucas palavras, como define essa marca suíça?
Uma marca de prestígio com mais de 150 anos de história e
savoir-faire na produção de relógios. A TAG Heuer é única, e
está sempre a reinventar-se.

What is your opinion about TAG Heuer? What can you tell
us about your business relationship with the brand?
It’s an honor to be associated to such a prestigious brand.
My first Grand Slam winner drew the attention of the midia and
TAG Heuer contacted me to be ambassador of the brand. I was
already a huge fan of this brand, and the opportunity to join a
range of ambassadors such as Uma Thurman and Brad Pitt was
incredible. I manage to enter to the fashion world through a big
door. We built a mutual relationship over the years and I also
could contribute for model designs to sunglasses and watches,
and learned a lot from these experiences.
In a few words, how do you define this Suisse brand?
A prestigious brand with over 150 years of history and with
a savoir-faire in the watches production. The TAG Heuer is
unique and is always reinventing itself.
Qual foi a experiência mais luxuosa que já teve?
Lembro-me da minha primeira sessão de fotos para a TAG
Heuer com Patrick Demarchelier. Foi no final de 2004. Ao longo
desse tempo, tive estilistas, cabeleireiros e maquilhadores para
cuidar de mim durante dias. Isso foi um sonho tornado realidade. Desde aquele dia, que me tornei numa amante do mundo da
moda. O que posso dizer é que sou uma mulher muito sortuda!
What was the most luxurious experience you’ve had?
I remember my first photo shoot for TAG Heuer with Patrick
Demarchelier. It was in late 2004. Over this time I had stylists, hairdressers and makeup artists to look after me for days
It was a dream come true Since that day I became a fashion
lover. What I can say is that I am a very lucky woman!
O que significa o ténis para si? Se existe Luxo neste desporto, o que é?
O Ténis é um desporto que eu amo. Amo o exercício mental
que exige, amo competir. O luxo nesse desporto é quando se
atinge um certo nível profissional. Para mim, o luxo foi quando
conquistei o torneio de Wimbledon pela primeira vez com 17
anos, em 2004. Depois disso, tudo se tornou trabalho árduo.
What tennis means to you? If there is luxury in this sport,
what is it?
Tennis is a sport that I love. I love the mental exercise that
is required and I love to compete. Luxury in this sport is when
we reach a certain professional level. For me, luxury was when
I conquered the Wimbledon tournament for the first time at
the age of 17, in 2004. After that all became hard work.

Qual é o seu maior tesouro na vida? E o que considera perfeito para relaxar?
Os meus fãs à volta do mundo são o mais importante. São
um verdadeiro tesouro. Sempre me apoiando quando estou
bem ou não. São muito leais e valorizo muito o suporte que
dão. Para relaxar, gosto muito de passar horas num SPA, com
massagens, tratamentos de beleza, manicure e pedicure.
O que é o Luxo da Porsche?
Dirigir, provavelmente, os melhores carros desportivos do mundo.
Como descreve essa marca?
É uma marca muito luxuosa, muito elegante e um dos melhores fabricantes de carros que existe.
Gosta de carros? Qual é o seu Porsche favorito?
Sim, eu gosto de carros. O meu modelo preferido é o 911
Carrera. É muito pessoal, pois ganhei um como prémio do torneio Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, em Sttutgart, na Alemanha.
Como vê a Porsche em relação à concorrência? Qual a sua
opinião sobre o setor automóvel de luxo?
Não passo muito tempo a pensar sobre esse mercado. Para
mim, a Porsche é a perfeita combinação entre uma performance de topo, uma excelente engenharia, elegância e luxo.
O que sentiu ao dar nome ao Porsche Panamera GTS e apresentá-lo durante a sua visita à Rússia? O que torna o modelo
exclusivo mediante a assinatura “by Maria Sharapova”?
Senti-me ótima, especialmente por estar na minha terra natal, em Sochi, para essa ocasião.
What is your greatest treasure in life? And what you consider a perfect relaxation?
My fans around the world are the most important. They
are a real treasure. Always supporting me when I’m good or
not. To relax, I love to spend hours in a spa with massage and
beauty treatments, manicures and pedicures.
What is the Luxury of Porsche?
Driving probably the best sports cars in the world.
How would you describe this brand?
It is a very luxurious and elegant brand and one of the best
cars manufacturers.
Do you like cars? What is your favorite Porsche?
Yes, I like cars. My favorite model is the 911 Carrera. It is very
personal, because I won on as an award, in the Porsche Tennis
Grand Prix tournament, playing for Stuttgart, Germany.
How to you see Porsche in terms of its competition? What
is your opinion about the luxury car sector?
I don’t spend too much time thinking about this market. For
me Porsche is the perfect combination of top performance,
excellent engineering, elegance and luxury.
What did you feel to name the Porsche Panamera GTS
and present it during your visit to Russia? What makes the
model “by Maria Sharapova” so unique?
I felt great, especially for being in my hometown in Sochi for
the occasion.

Como se sente sendo a embaixadora da Porsche?
Um privilégio e um caminho trilhado. Conduzi um carro da
marca muitos anos antes de me tornar a embaixadora da
Porsche. É uma experiência única, especial e sinto-me realmente parte da família Porsche.
How do you feel being the ambassador of the Porsche?
It’s a privilege and a trodden path. I drove a Porsche car
many years before I became the ambassador of Porsche. It’s
a unique and special experience and I really feel being part of
Porsche family.
A Porsche é 100% luxo, e a Maria, como mulher, também
é. O que pensa ter em comum com essa marca? Isso faz com
que a sua relação com a Porsche seja mais forte?
Penso que uma performance de topo, poder e elegância são
pontos em comum que compartilhamos, apesar de ser difícil
traçar um comparativo entre marcas e pessoas. Não diria que
isso faz com que o relacionamento seja mais forte, mas, facilita, para mim, a identificação natural com a Porsche.
Porsche is 100% luxury and Maria as a woman is too.
What do you think having in common with the brand? This
makes your relationship with Porsche stronger?
I think that a high performance, power and elegance are
common points that we share, although it is difficult to draw a
comparison between brands and people. I don´t say that this
makes the relationship stronger, but it’s easier for me, the
natural identification with Porsche.
Quais são os seus próximos planos com a marca Porsche?
Realizámos tantas coisas juntos no ano passado. Não apenas
o Panamera by Maria Sharapova, mas também as goluseimas
“Speedy”,o último Sugarpova lançado com formato do carro Porsche 911. Foram ações incriveis e digo que não são as últimas.
What are your next plans with Porsche?
We held so many things together last year. Not just Panamera
by Maria Sharapova but also the Gummy Candies Speedy that was
the last Sugarpova released with the format of a Porsche 911 car.
Como imagina o futuro para a Porsche?
Estou otimista em relação à marca e o seu futuro. Eles têm
uma boa gama de modelos de carros, desde o Porsche 911 até
o Macan, um novo SUV compacto.

How do you imagine the Future for Porsche?
I am optimistic about the brand and its future. They have a
good range of car models from the Porsche 911 to the Macan,
a new compact SUV.
