Tlie AÄ. de.scritjc the sporogonic evolution of Hepatozoon miliaris (Pessoa,
1968), parasite of a water-snake, Liophis miliaris. This hemogregarine have the
sporogonous development in the leech Haementeria lutzi in about 25 to 30 days,
at laboratory temperature. The aulhors give the description of the gametes,
zygotes, oocysts, sporocysts and sporozoites. Nevertheless, the process of transmission through the leeches has not been elucidated.
