Shirley Nigri Farber is a Brazilian Journalist and President
of Farber Marketing, a consulting company that
helps bridge the cultural gap between Americans and
Portuguese Speakers and Latinos. She created and hosts
since 2005 the bi-lingual TV show Bate Papo com Shirley
that can be seen in more than 25 cities towns in the state of
Massachusetts. She is the editor and publisher of the 7 year
old monthly free magazine Bate Papo (www.papotv.com)
geared to Portuguese speakers in MA, RI and NH. In 2009
she created the Shalom Magazine (www.shalomMA.com)
geared to the American Jewish population in Massachusetts.
In 2008 she was selected as the top 5 most influential people in her town of Stoughton and twice
as Outstanding Media by the Brazilian Immigrant Center. She advocates for immigrants,
especially helping female business owners in the Brazilian, Cape Verde and Portuguese
communities. A native of beautiful Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro, she now lives in Stoughton, MA
with her husband Scott and their 8 year old, David.

lingua Portuguesa e Latinos. ela criou e apresenta desde 2005 o programa de TV bilingue Bate
Papo com Shirley que vai ao ar em mais de 25 cidades em todo o estado de Massachusetts. Há 7
anos ela criou e edita revista mensal e gratuita Bate Papo Magazine (www.papotv.com) voltada
para as comunidades de lingua portuguesa em MA, RI e NH. Em 2009 ela lançou a Shalom
Magazine (www.shalomMA.com) direcionada para a comunidade judaica americana
em Massachusetts.
Em 2008 ela foi eleita uma das 5 pessoas mais influentes da cidade de Stoughton e por duas
vezes recebeu o premio de Destque de Midia do Centro do Imigrante Brasileiro. Ela luta pelos
direitos dos imigrantes, especialmente ajudando mulheres de negócio nas comunidades
brasileiras, caboverdeanas e portuguesas. Natural da bela praia de Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro,
mora agora em Stoughton, MA com seu marido
Scott e seu filho David de 8 anos.
