Arte Institute is pleased to present “New Portuguese Writers”, a series of lectures and performances with Portuguese writers
Dulce Maria Cardoso and Afonso Cruz.
This event will open at Met Museum with a performance by guest actresses Monica Calle and Isabel Abreu, on October 25,
at 4 pm.
The second event will be a lecture by Dulce Maria Cardoso (6 pm) and Afonso Cruz (7.30 pm) at New York University (NYU)
- King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center, on October 27.
The lectures will be in english and will also be followed by a performance by actress Monica Calle, as part of a group of
original idea by Storytailors.
Dulce Maria Cardoso (born 1964) is a Portuguese writer. She was born in Fonte Longa/Trás-os-Montes but moved to Luanda,
Angola as an infant. Her family came back to Portugal in 1975 along with half a million other “retornados” as Portugal’s
overseas colonies gained independence.
