Seminars will take place in Vila Viçosa, an historic town in Alto Alentejo
(188 Km and aroun 1 hour and 45 min drive from Lisbon); website:

Workshops and conferences will be held in the Cine-Teatro Florbela Espanca,
which is located in the town´s historic centre.
REGISTRATION AND ATTENDANCE FEES
International Seminar is open to students of architecture,
urbanism, civil engineering, landscaping, geology and mines, art and
to architects, engineers, urbanists, geologists and visual artists.
e fees of attendance at the «STONE PROJECT» Seminar, to take
place between 19th and 22nd of September, are until the 31th July (early
birds) 80€ for students and 100€ for professionals and general public.
After this date, the fee will be of 100€ for students and 120€ for professionals
and general public till 30th August.
The fee includes attendance at the conferences, workshops, field trips,
as well as the registration to the contest.
The organization will provide sugestions either for accomodation and meals.
A bus belonging to the Vila Viçosa City Council will be at the Parque
Eduardo VII from10 p.m. to take the registered participants who arrive
by plane on the 18th September.
STUDENTS WHO WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SEMINAR MUST:
1. Send an email to: [email protected] indicating
name, gender, academic formation or situation, faculty and university
of origin and how they found out about the events ( conveying, whenever
possible, the name of the teacher who has recommended the event).
2. Students are expected to proceed the a bank account transfer (until
the 31th August).
3. Students must forward the proof of payment, until the 31th of
August, and send it to:

Seminar registration will only be considered after the reception of this
document.

Whenever Man has endeavoured to immortalize his constructions he has
sought, in stone, the solidity, the resilience and the perennity which defy
gravity, entropy and Time. By his use of stone, matter in one of its most
rudimentary and dense states, Man has bestowed limits and shape on
space and light, the more subtle and ethereal terms.
The quarry and spoil heap sites, as landscape elicit forms, can poetically be
inscripted in Drawing, Architecture and Land Art.
Considering the rich heritage, history, architectonic and urban contexts of
Vila Viçosa, the 2st Biennial “STONE PROJECT” INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR
Art, Architecture or Design.
