Nas suas instalações, performances e edições discográficas, Florian Hecker
negoceia com desenvolvimentos particulares na composição musical da
modernidade do pós-guerra, com a música eletroacústica, bem como com
outras disciplinas. Hecker dramatiza o espaço, o tempo e a autoperceção,
isolando eventos auditivos específicos na sua singularidade e, assim,
estendendo os limites da sua materialização.
Para a sua exposição no espaço Lumiar Cité, Hecker criou a obra Articulação,
uma instalação sonora que parte de um libreto experimental do filósofo
iraniano Reza Negarestani e que é um prolongamento de Chimarization,
um trabalho que o artista apresentou na dOCUMENTA (13), em Kassel
(Alemanha). Esta obra aprofunda as investigações em torno do universa­
lismo, da síntese e decomposição, das quimeras da natureza e da cultura
em forma de fábula topológica.
Florian Hecker (1975) vive e trabalha em Kissing (Alemanha) e Viena.
Das inúmeras exposições individuais, coletivas e performances em que
participou podemos destacar: dOCUMENTA (13), Kassel, Alemanha; Nouveau
Festival, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris (ambas, 2012); Bienal Internacional
de Gotemburgo (Suécia, 2011, 2003); Push and Pull, A two-day performance
event, Tate Modern, Londres (2011); MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst,
Frankfurt (Alemanha, 2010); e No night No day, em colaboração com
Cerith Wyn Evans, 53ª Bienal de Veneza (Itália, 2009). Em simultâneo,
Hecker tem desenvolvido uma extensa discografia, com trabalhos lançados
por editoras como a Editions Mego, Pan, Presto?!, Rephlex, Warner Classics
e Warp.
Coprodução da Maumaus e do Goethe-Institut Portugal, no âmbito da
parceria para o Programa Internacional de Residências da Maumaus, e do
Festival Cantabile 2012. Em colaboração com o CAPS – Instituto Superior
Técnico, o Jardim Botânico da Universidade de Lisboa – Museu Nacional
de História Natural e a Meyer Sound.

In his installations, performances and publications, Florian Hecker explores
specific compositional developments of post-war modernity and electroacoustic music, as well as extra-musical disciplines. Hecker dramatizes
space, time and self-perception by isolating specific auditory events in
their singularity, thus stretching the boundaries of their materialization.
For the occasion of his exhibition at Lumiar Cité, Hecker produced Hinge,
a text sound piece, featuring an experimental libretto by the Iranian philo­
sopher Reza Negarestani. Hinge is a sequel to Chimarization, a work that
Hecker presented at dOCUMENTA (13), Kassel (Germany). The piece
deepens their investigations on universalism, synthesis and decomposition
and the chimeras of nature and culture in the form of a topological fable.
Florian Hecker (1975) lives and works in Kissing (Germany) and Vienna.

for Contemporary Art (Sweden, 2011, 2003); Push and Pull, A two-day
performance event, Tate Modern, London (2011); MMK Museum für Moderne
Kunst, Frankfurt (Germany, 2010) and No night No day, in collaboration
with Cerith Wyn Evans, 53 Venice Biennale (Italy, 2009). In addition Hecker
has an extensive discography with works released on labels such as Editions
Mego, Pan, Presto?!, Rephlex, Warner Classics and Warp.
Coproduction by Maumaus and Goethe-Institut Portugal, in partnership
with the Maumaus Residency Programme and Festival Cantabile 2012.
