Kansas City, June 20 (World Weather, Inc.) – Rain will return to some southern
coffee production areas from Parana to southern Sul de Minas during mid-week this week
with mostly dry weather likely both before and after that period of time. None of the rain
will be great enough to threaten flowering and only a brief period of harvest delay is
expected. There is no risk of crop damaging cold for the next ten days.

BRAZIL
Mostly dry weather occurred in coffee production areas of Brazil Friday through
Sunday afternoon. Rain occurred mostly to the south of the main production areas and along
the upper Bahia coast. Lowest temperatures during the weekend were mostly in the upper
single digits and lower teens with some middle and upper teens to near 20 degree readings
in the north and along the middle Atlantic coast. Highest afternoon temperatures were in the
middle and upper 20s except in northern Minas Gerais and central Bahia where a few
readings near and slightly over 30 degrees were noted.
Mostly dry weather will occur in coffee production areas through Tuesday. Rain will
develop from northern Parana to southern Sul de Minas Wednesday and Thursday.
Resulting rainfall will vary from 5 to 25 millimeters with northern Parana and Sao Paulo
wettest. Some rain will reach into southern Sul de Minas and Rio de Janeiro while rainfall
elsewhere in Sul de Minas will likely be minimal along with other crop areas from central
Minas Gerais and parts of Zona de Mata northward.
Mostly dry weather will return late this week and continue into the weekend with
another chance for showers occurring early next week. Daily rainfall from late Sunday
through Wednesday, June 26-29 will vary from 1 to 8 millimeters and locally more.
Temperatures will be seasonable over the next week to ten days. Daily highs will be
in the 20s Celsius except from northern Minas Gerais to Bahia where upper 20s and lower
30s are most likely. Lowest morning temperatures will remain mostly in the upper single
digits and teens. A few lower 20-degree lows will occur in the far north and along the upper
Atlantic Coast periodically.
