FROM BUGGERY TO BRIDAL SHOWERS: GLOBAL LGBT PUBLIC
CICLO DE CONFERÊNCIAS 2014/2015 CENTRO DE INVESTIGAÇÃO ISPA - INSTITUTO UNIVERSITÁRIO Com o apoio da FULLBRIGHT INTERCOUNTRY LECTURING PROGRAM FROM BUGGERY TO BRIDAL SHOWERS: GLOBAL LGBT PUBLIC POLICY AND MENTAL HEALTH Even though public policies and opinions are rapidly changing, serious mental health issues for LGBT people remain. These disparities exist within a historical context that castigated LGBT individuals as immoral, aberrant, and deviant. Weaving the past with the present, this lecture explores emerging LGBT global social and policy changes (e.g., same-sex marriage) and their potential impact on LGBT mental health, clinical treatment, and wellbeing. Moreover, the role of clinical training is examined as both a causative or ameliorative factor in addressing LGBT mental health disparities. 13 ABRIL 2015 12H30 AUDITÓRIO 1 ENTRADA LIVRE Markus Bidell Hunter College, New York City (Associate Professor) Regent’s University London (2014-2015 Regent’s University Fulbright Scholar) CENTRO DE INVESTIGAÇÃO Rua Jardim do Tabaco, 34 1149 - 041 Lisboa T. 218 811 700 F. 218 860 954 [email protected] www.ispa.pt Segue-nos em www.facebook.com/ISPA.IU
