E spertise ™ Experimental set-up of thermographic video shoot to compare temperature development of Imprint™ 4 VPS Impression Material with competing VPS materials during the setting process Both sample preparation and video recording were done at standard room temperature. 1.) Sample preparation: Two Position™ Trays (lower arch, size M) were filled simultaneously using two Pentamix™ 3 Automatic Mixing Units (both 3M ESPE). Impression materials were mixed using the mixing tips recommended by the manufacturer of each material. At the start of mixing a stop- watch was started. 2.) Video recording: The two filled impression trays were placed in front of a thermographic video camera (FLIR T640 with a 45° lens). Then, 60 seconds after the start of mixing, the recording of a thermographic video was started and the video was saved onto a notebook computer using FLIR Tools+ software. Video files in .avi format were captured using FLIR Camera Player software. After approximately 5 minutes’ duration, the recording was stopped. The colour-scale of the camera was set with FLIR Camera Player software to range between 21°C/69.8°F and 37°C/98.6°F. 3M Deutschland GmbH · Location Seefeld · 3M ESPE · ESPE Platz · 82229 Seefeld · Germany · [email protected] www.3MESPE.com · 3M, ESPE, Imprint, Pentamix and Position are trademarks of 3M Company or 3M Deutschland GmbH.
