NV ARENA – the new home stadium
of SK Lower Austria St. Pölten
The NV ARENA, the new football stadium in St. Pölten, is one of the most attractive, modern
small stadiums in Austria. The home team – SK Niederösterreich St. Pölten – currently plays in the
Austrian Second Division.
The arena is located not far from the centre, to the north of the city of St. Pölten, incorporated in
the Sportwelt Niederösterreich, the state’s sports centre.
The modern infrastructure offers 8,000 covered seats, impresses with its unique architecture and
a high degree of comfort for its visitors, security, barrier-free access and energy efficiency.
The HYPO NOE Lounge, a business club for up to 800 guests in the main building, can be booked
for various types of event.

Cultural treasures from the historical to the modern
A rich cultural heritage bears witness to the major events which have left their mark on the country
around Vienna. This ranges from small, ancient artistic treasures such as the Venus of Willendorf
– one of the oldest stone sculptures in the world, dating back to ca. 25000 BC – through to large,
modern expressions of cultural art such as the architecturally attractive government quarter in St.
Pölten. This is complemented by varied cultural offerings from the historical to the modern, from
light entertainment to high art, leaving nothing to be desired.

Lower Austria is Austria’s culinary treasure house: nowhere else does such a diversity of regional
specialities grow in fields and meadows, in gardens and in stretches of water. Here, where regional
specialities such as Marchfeld asparagus, Wachau apricots, Waldviertel carps and Weinviertel
pumpkins grow, the locals really know how to turn them into delicacies and pep them up into
scrumptious meals. Straightforward or experimental, simple or refined, regional or international –
Lower Austria’s cosy wine taverns, elegant gourmet restaurants and the outstanding pub culture

All roads lead to … wine
Naturally, wine is also a source of enjoyment. Home to more than half of Austria’s total viticultural
area, Lower Austria is the country’s largest wine-growing area and, at 830 km, the Lower Austrian
Wine Route is Austria’s longest pleasure route – by far. It connects the most charming landscapes
and impressive sites of an independent wine culture which has been cultivated for centuries.
Cellar lanes, for instance, make up a considerable part of the route – they are wine cellar
ensembles whose density and variety are second to none in Lower Austria. However, it is not only
the expanse of the wine country, the diversity of grapevines and the fact that all roads lead to
wine that make Lower Austria into the top destination for gourmets of wine – the quality of the
wines and the reputation of the wine-growers also make Austria’s largest wine country so unique.
There are plenty of occasions to enjoy the wine: such as in the wine cellars buried in the soft
loess hundreds of years ago, or in the modern tasting rooms, as a delicious accompaniment to
a gourmet meal or as part of one of the numerous festivals celebrated during the wine autumn,
Lower Austria’s fifth season.
