WT:VIII-2 Semantic Web: Introduction © STEIN 2005-2014 Bemerkungen: q Zur Grafik: “The Internet Traffic Report monitors the flow of data around the world. It then displays a value between zero and 100. Higher values indicate faster and more reliable connections.” q Mehr Informationen zur Statistik, Historie, Benutzung und Benutzer des Internet und des WWW: – The Internet Society www.isoc.org/internet – The Internet Systems Consortium http://www.isc.org WT:VIII-3 Semantic Web: Introduction © STEIN 2005-2014 WWW heute Bestandsaufnahme (Fortsetzung) Das World Wide Web bietet: q HTTP. Semantic Web: Introduction © STEIN 2005-2014 WWW heute Herausforderungen [vgl. Sack 2004] Information Retrieval: q Synonyme Ü Recall ↓ q Homonyme Ü Precision ↓ q keine Kontexteingrenzung q zuviele oder zuwenig Ergebnisse Die Rolle von Semantik: q Begriffsfindung mit Ontologien q Begriffsabgrenzung mit Ontologien q Kontextanalyse mit Ontologien q automatische Anfrageverfeinerung q personalisiertes Ranking q dokumentenübergreifende Beantwortung von Anfragen. Stichworte: Textsynthese, Summarization WT:VIII-5 Semantic Web: Introduction © STEIN 2005-2014 WWW heute Herausforderungen Information Extraction: q nur von Menschen (gut) durchführbar q Erkennung von Genre (Texttypen) q Informationsaggregation aus Bild und Text q Einschätzung von Informationsqualität Die Rolle von Semantik: q Hintergrund- und Weltwissen aus Ontologien q (einfache) Schlussfolgerungen ziehen WT:VIII-6 Semantic Web: Introduction © STEIN 2005-2014 WWW heute Herausforderungen Personalisierung: q Anpassung von Inhalten q Anpassung der Darstellung q Erkennung von Verhaltensmustern Die Rolle von Semantik: q Verallgemeinerung und Spezialisierung von Inhalten (Ontologien) q Abstimmen mit Gewohnheiten und Präferenzen durch Deduktion WT:VIII-7 Semantic Web: Introduction © STEIN 2005-2014 Bemerkungen: q Der selbständige Datenaustausch zwischen Maschinen, insbesondere im B2B-Bereich, wächst. q Information Overload im Web, Informationsbeschaffung zu zeitaufwendig. q Informationsbeschaffung im Web quasi nur durch Menschen durchführbar. WT:VIII-8 Semantic Web: Introduction © STEIN 2005-2014 Semantic Web Vision Tim Berners-Lee “I have a dream for the Web ... and it has two parts. In the first part, the Web becomes a much more powerful means for collaboration between people. I have always imagined the information space as something to which everyone has immediate and intuitive access, and not just to browse, but to create. [. . . ] Furthermore, the dream of people-to-people communication through shared knowledge must be possible for groups of all sizes, interacting electronically with as much ease as they do now in person. WT:VIII-9 Semantic Web: Introduction © STEIN 2005-2014 Semantic Web Vision Tim Berners-Lee “I have a dream for the Web ... and it has two parts. In the second part of the dream, collaborations extend to computers. Machines become capable of analyzing all the data on the Web—the content, links, and transactions between people and computers. A ’Semantic Web’, which should make this possible, has yet to emerge, but when it does, the day-to-day mechanisms of trade, bureaucracy, and our daily lives will be handled by machines talking to machines, leaving humans to provide the inspiration and intuition.” WT:VIII-10 Semantic Web: Introduction © STEIN 2005-2014 Bemerkungen: q Noch eine kurze Charakterisierung des Semantic Web: “The Semantic Web provides a common framework that allows data to be shared and reused across application, enterprise, and community boundaries. It is a collaborative effort led by W3C with participation from a large number of researchers and industrial partners. It is based on the Resource Description Framework (RDF), which integrates a variety of applications using XML for syntax and URIs for naming.” [Franczyk 2005] WT:VIII-11 Semantic Web: Introduction © STEIN 2005-2014 Semantic Web Vision Beispiel 1: Netzagenten The phone rang. When Pete answered, his phone turned the sound down by sending a message to all the other local devices. "Mom needs to see a specialist and then has to have a series of physical therapy sessions..." Lucy's Semantic Web agent retrieved information about Mom's prescribed treatment from the doctor's agent, looked up several lists of providers, and checked for the ones close to her home ... ... It then began trying to find a match between available appointment times between Pete's and Lucy's busy schedules.
