Parvus is a privately held biopharmaceutical company developing and commercializing a nanotechnology-based therapeutic platform for the treatment of autoimmunity. Their portfolio of therapeutic candidates, Navacims, have the potential to radically improve the lives of patients with autoimmune disease. Navacims, are nanoparticles conjugated to immune system proteins that can be readily modified to target a range of autoimmune conditions like type I diabetes (T1D), multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis, amongst others. Their lead candidate, NavacimTD, is in development for T1D. The company has passed PoC and is poised to enter clinical development. The Parvus technology is truly breakthrough and has garnered interest from a variety of potential industry partners and investors. For example, they have already turned down a partnership with Pharma in excess of $150M in favor of an alternative route to long term financial stability -- a venture-backed financing, currently in late due diligence, that they anticipate closing before the end of 2012. Parvus uses a low overhead business model and a cadre of global collaborators and advisors (CRO's, CMO's and advisors, for example), with an emphasis on the US and Europe. They are looking for additional partners in their area of expertise, for example, CRO's and CMO's with protein expression and nanoparticle production capabilities (potentially up to cGMP level). Also, SMEs and research institutes with expertise in novel animal models of autoimmunity (applicable to MS, Arthritis, Lupus etc.). Finally, via their founder (academic appointments in both Canada and Spain), they are applying for a FP7 grant and actively looking for SME collaborators in Europe. http://www.parvustherapeutics.net Virtual Health Solutions Providing better in-the-home care and security for People with disabilities and the elderly.
