Von Anfang an - die Suche nach einem besseren Weg Paddler zu bewegen.
1982 entwickelte Dale Kicker mit Ron Hultmann als Erster eine Composite-Schutzkante für Paddel.
Aus dieser Idee entstand Bending Branches, bis heute ein in Wisconsin, USA produzierendes Unternehmen.

Die Kante eines jeden Bending Branches Paddels ist von der Rockgard-Schutzkante umschlossen. Diese ist ein
Geheimrezept, abgeleitet aus den Kunststoffmischungen die auch in Inlineskate-Rädern zu finden sind. Auch die

In 1982, whitewater and touring canoeist Dale Kicker and flat-water racer Ron Hultman teamed up to create the first

Paddelauswahl und Paddellänge:
Wählen Sie Ihr Paddel nicht nur nach dem Geldbeutel, es ist Ihr Werkzeug
und es macht Sinn hier nicht am falschen Ende zu sparen. Ein gutes
Paddel vergrößert jedes Kanuerlebnis.
Wählen Sie nach: - überwiegendem Gewässereinsatz, - Kraft und
Paddelstil des Paddlers, - persönlichen Geschmack.
Paddellänge: Viele variable Faktoren, wie z.B. Sitzhöhe, Bootstyp,
Blattlänge, etc. könnten berücksichtigt werden. Am besten hat sich
folgende Faustregel herausgestellt: Im Stand endet das Paddel zwischen
Brustbein und Kinn, beim Steuermann im Regelfall zur Obergrenze, beim
Bugpaddler und Frauen meist zur Untergrenze hin tendierend. Flache
Gewässer sind mit etwas kürzerem Paddel besser zu befahren, bei tiefem
Wasser macht die Länge Sinn. Wer gerne eine hohe Schlagfrequenz
fährt, kommt mit einem kürzeren Paddel besser zurecht. Mehr Info auf

Sizing
While many methods exist, a simple
and accurate way is to measure your
torso. Sit up straight on a flat surface
and measure from the surface in between your legs to your nose and add
blade length. For sleek canoes with
narrow or tumblehome gunwales, you
can usually shorten up by one size
length. Where possible, try different lengths before you commit. Bent
paddles are generally 4 inches shorter
than straight ones.
Caring for Your Wood Paddle
Your paddle won’t need any special
care except to protect it from the
elements between trips. If the finish
of the paddle does become scratched
or worn through, give

an overview on how you can repair
your wood paddle.
