Auf den Winter freuen -- The Hub kommt in die Läden
Weihnachten ist gesichert! Pünktlich zur kalten Jahreszeit bringt der Sportartikelhersteller
O’Neill seine High Tech Jacke „The Hub“ auf den Markt. Das Premiummodell der diesjährigen
Winterkollektion soll ab 499 Euro über die Ladentische gehen -- Infineon Mitarbeiter
bekommen das gute Stück wesentlich billiger.
349 Euro wird die Snowboardjacke im Infineonshop kosten. Für
die Mitarbeiter wurde ein Kontingent von 300 Exemplaren
ausgehandelt. Das Modell in den Größen XS bis XXL gibt es für
die Infineon Kollegen in der Farbe „Black Out“.
The Hub ist eine echte Besonderheit, nicht nur in der
Snowboarder Szene: Der herausnehmbare mp3-Player fasst, auf
seinem 128 Megabyte Speicher, den Inhalt von rund zwei CD’s
in hervorragender Qualität. Über die im Material eingewobenen
Leiterbahnen gelangen die Audiodaten direkt in die hochwertigen
Mikrokopfhörer, die vom renommierten Phonohersteller
Sennheiser geliefert werden. Dank Bluetooth Modul können über
die Kopfhörer und ein im Kragen integriertes Mikrophon bequem
Anrufe entgegengenommen werden. Die Steuerung erfolgt über
die im linken Ärmel integrierte Stofftastatur.
Das atmungsaktive aber trotzdem auf kälteste Temperaturen
ausgelegte Modell ist das „Flagschiff“ in der aktuellen Kollektion
von O’Neill und wurde bereits mit enormem Interesse von
Händlern, Presse und Fachpublikum begrüßt. Als erster Bekleidungshersteller hat das Unternehmen
Hochtechnologie von Infineon in seinen Produkten verbaut und bietet diese ab sofort einem breiten
Kundenkreis an.
Ein weiteres, aktuelles Projekt der Abteilung Wearable Technology Solutions bei Infineon ist die
Zusammenarbeit mit dem Bekleidungshersteller Rosner. Hier wurde vor kurzem die Lifestyle Jacke
„mp3blue“ für den europaweiten Verkauf angekündigt. Die Technologie die in beiden Jacken steckt
ist identisch. Das Rosner Modell soll ab Februar auf den Markt kommen.

The Hub hits the stores this winter
Roll on Christmas! The launch of the high tech jacket dubbed “The Hub”, from O’Neill, the
sports gear outfitters, has been timed to coincide with the start of the cold season. The
premium model of this year’s winter collection is expected to retail at 499 euros – but will
come at a significant saving for Infineon personnel.
The price ticket of the snowboard jacket at the Infineon shop will
be 349 euros. Infineon staff have been allocated a quota of 300
garments in the color “Black Out”, in sizes ranging from XS to
XXL.
The Hub is sporting apparel with a real difference - not just in the
snowboarder scene. The removable 128 MB MP3 player has
enough capacity for top quality playback of around two CDs. The
audio data travels across conductors woven into the material,
directly into the quality micro headphones supplied by
Sennheiser, the renowned manufacturer of phono equipment.
Courtesy of the Bluetooth module, calls are answered via the
headphones and a microphone integrated into the collar. The
user controls the functions using a textile keypad integrated into
the left sleeve.
Fashioned from breathable fabric yet designed for wear at
freezing temperatures, the model is the “flagship” of O'Neill’s
current collection and has already met with enormous interest
from dealers, the press and the trade. The company is the first sportswear manufacturer to build high
technology from Infineon into its products - and these are now being offered to a wide clientele.
A further project currently underway sees collaboration between the Infineon division of Wearable
Technology Solutions and Rosner, the clothing manufacturer. The market debut across Europe of
the “mp3blue” lifestyle jacket was recently announced. Both jackets incorporate the identical
technology. The Rosner model is scheduled to come onto the market from February 2005.
