Press Release Allianz Junior Football Camp 2012: Five days of football adventure begins in Munich for teenagers from all over the world Allianz Junior Football Camp is taking place in Munich from August 30 - September 3, 2012 63 teenagers from 21 countries undergoing training with FC Bayern München youth coaches Children meet exciting new Spanish signing, Javier Martinez, along with FC Bayern München captain Phillip Lahm and players Bastian Schweinsteiger, Manuel Neuer and Diego Contento. The annual Allianz Junior Football Camp has kicked-off in Munich, Germany, with 63 teenagers from 21 countries around the world arriving for a five day footballing adventure with world famous professional football team, FC Bayern München. The Camp will run until Monday 3 September 2012. The kids began their adventure with a once-in-a-lifetime experience, after being invited to watch the first team in a private training session at the world class FC Bayern München training facility on Säbener Strasse. This was followed by an exclusive meet and greet and autograph session with international footballing superstars, including Spaniard Javier Martinez, attending his first training after the club announced his signing this week. The children also met Bastian Schweinsteiger, Manuel Neuer, Phillip Lahm and Diego Contento. Following a group photo with Diego Contento; Matthias Fichtl, Head of Global Brand Building at Allianz SE; managing director of the Allianz Arena, Jürgen Muth; head coach of the FC Bayern München U16 team, Sebastian Dremmler; and FC Bayern München club mascot, Berni, the kids took to the famous pitches themselves to begin their training program with the FC Bayern München youth coaches. Five days of football adventure Camp participants can expect a diverse sports and adventure program again this year: beyond the meet and greet with the players and official training sessions, the kids will also experience a Munich sightseeing trip and a visit to the newly opened official FC Bayern München museum, "FC Bayern Erlebniswelt". A peek behind the scenes of the Allianz Arena is also scheduled, with the kids returning to the Arena on September 2 to see their heroes in action, as FC Bayern München play VFB Stuttgart. 63 camp participants from 21 countries share one passion Allianz is hosting 63 participants from 21 counties at the fourth annual Allianz Junior Football Camp in 2012, setting new attendance record. The boys and girls, aged 14-16, were chosen from amongst over 60,000 applications received from around the world. The aim of the camp is to bring together youngsters, develop their football skills and help them explore foreign cultures and gain friends for life. "The Allianz Junior Football Camp has a very international character. All our participants come from different cultural and social backgrounds – and yet they all share a passion for football. The exceptional experience they gain in Munich significantly contributes to the intercultural exchange of the young adults", says Matthias Fichtl, Head of Global Brand Building of Allianz SE. “It is so much fun for us to meet the kids coming to the Allianz Junior Football Camp,” says Diego Contento, FC Bayern München. “They come from all over the world and are always so excited and interested.
