Our catalogues for the upcoming
coming auction sales, also to be consulted online on our website (www.kornfeld.ch), will
be dispatched shortly. We would like to take this opportunity to cordially invite you to our auctions by presenting
you with a few highlights. On 16 and 17 June 2016 – contemporaneously with ART BASEL – works from the 19th
to the 21st century (auction 266) as well as exquisite old master prints and drawings (auction 265) will be on offer
in Bern.
Swiss art will be represented by a beautiful group of oil paintings and watercolours by Cuno Amiet, Albert Anker,
Augusto Giacometti
iacometti and Giovanni Giacometti. They come from major private collections and have never been on
the market, or not for a long time.

This year you can expect to find some particular gems in the section Classic Modernism: The undisputed highlight
here is a large group of 11 original works by Paul Klee. Some of these works have not been on the market since
they were bought from the artist’s estate.

A special place in the catalogue is dedicated to a group of original works and rare graphic sheets by Käthe
Kollwitz from an international private collection. A watercolour by Max Beckmann from 1934, important drawings
by Edgar Degas and Egon Schiele as well as major original works by Paul Gaugin, Erich Heckel, Edvard Munch,
Pablo Picasso and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec round off the section ‘works on paper’.

Rare sheets by Rembrandt dominate the substantial catalogue of old master prints and drawings. The etching
“Die Landschaft mit den drei Bäumen” deserves special mention here. Other artists represented by exquisite
