CASTROL TRIBOL® 1300™
Synthetic gear oils
DESCRIPTION
®
CASTROL TRIBOL 1300 synthetic gear oils have been developed for the lubrication of highly loaded gears,
especially worm gears as well as bearings even when subjected to high operating temperatures.
They differ from gears oils based on mineral oils in the following characteristics: they feature excellent oxidation
resistance (even at high temperatures), an outstanding shearing stability and a good viscosity-temperature
behavior.
®
• CASTROL TRIBOL 1300 are synthetic high-temperature gear oils based on polyglycol and are available in
the viscosity grades ISO VG 68 to ISO VG 1000.
®
• The synthetic gear oils CASTROL TRIBOL 1300 are free from silicone.
• They comply with the requirements to be met by USDA H2 lubricants.
Applications
•
•
•
CASTROL TRIBOL® 1300 gear oils are especially suited for the lubrication of worm gears with steel/bronze
combinations and are exclusively applied for first-fills.
Also for the lubrication of spur, bevel and planetary gears.
The synthetic gear oils CASTROL TRIBOL® 1300 can also be used for dip, circular and injection lubrication.
Advantages
•
•
in worm gears the coefficients of friction are reduced due to the polyglycol base oils and the wear rates are
lowered owing to the optimum additive package
they feature a high scuffing load capacity and an excellent wear protection: in the FZG test (A/8.3/90) they
reach the damage load stage of > 12.
Notes For Use
•
•
•
When applying CASTROL TRIBOL® 1300 synthetic gear oils we recommend two-component lacquers for
the internal coat of paint. The oil inspection glasses should preferably be made of natural glass or polyamide
materials.
At permanent temperatures up to + 140°C seals made of NBR materials (acrylo-nitrile-butadiene rubber) can
be used. For higher temperatures we recommend sealing materials based on FKM (fluoro-caoutchouc)
which are elastomers resistant to CASTROL TRIBOL® 1300.
CASTROL TRIBOL® 1300 is not miscible with mineral oils, esters and synthetic hydrocarbons. In case of an
oil change we recommend CASTROL TRIBOL® 1300 or CASTROL TRIBOL® 800 for refill.
