press kit 2010 - 7 Dollar Taxi
Press Kit 2010 PRESS KIT 2010 Press Kit 2010 BIOGRAPHY Tizian von Arx: Christoph Zurflüh: César von Arx: Simon Wigger: lead vocals, guitars backing vocals, guitars backing vocals, bass guitar drums Having burst out of the scenic city of Lucerne, Switzerland, 7 Dollar Taxi took their local scene by storm. With various tours through the UK, Germany, Austria and Spain they managed to build up a notorious live reputation and a decent fanbase. Moreover, they've proved that Switzerland has more to offer than cheese, watches and the bank secrecy. "Come And Figure It Out", the band's full-length debut album, was released in Switzerland in 2006 (self-release) and in Japan in 2008 (Kurofune Records) where the single "Do The Robot" was picked iTunes single of the week and got playlisted on several radio and TV stations. In the UK the band gained a fair amount of industry interest and not only NME's James Jam has predicted a bright future for the foursome as he chose them to be an NME breaking band. Also BBC's Zane Lowe, Tom Robinson and Huw Stephens share this opinion and have played the band in their shows. Press Kit 2010 PRESS "Some might say it’s a slur to say this harmony-drenched Swiss lot sound like The Wannadies. I wouldn’t, and those people are dicks. The Wannadies were great. As are 7 Dollar Taxi” (New Musical Express) "7 Dollar Taxi give you that attention-grabbing punch. They are a good band, and have got a really good vibe to them. A skinny indie 4-piece band that's better than most" (Artrocker Magazine) "Clad in outfits that would make Harry Potter wet, this foursome uses simple melodies to write instantly catchy tunes. With styles that recall European bands like The Beatles and Franz Ferdinand, these guys may be America's next foreign favourite" (freeindie.com) "I reckon Swiss pop-rockers 7 Dollar Taxi are going to be bloody huge" (Room Thirteen) "Die grossartige Luzerner Band 7 Dollar Taxi klingt wie Franz Ferdinand, nur besser.
