Rolf Zuckowski is the most famous and best loved children‘s singer-songwriter in Germany - he
is also very popular among parents and grandparents. His birthday song “Wie schön, dass du
geboren bist” (“How wonderful it is that you are born”) acquired the status of a folk song.
Rolf Zuckowski was born 1947 in Hamburg. His musical career began with the band “The beAthovens”. After graduating in Economics he worked for “International Music Publishers Hans Sikorski”, all the while continuing to compose music and write lyrics for several successful artists. His
first record for children “Rolfs Vogelhochzeit” (Rolf`s Wedding of the Birds) was released in 1978.
Many songs followed and Rolf and his music soon became very popular with live audiences as
well as on the radio and television.
Rolf has released more than 40 albums to date and has sold over 16 million records. In 1994
he set up his own company under the umbrella of the Universal Music Group. He was awarded
the German “Echo” record prize in 1994 and received further prizes for his musical projects
promoting road safety. In 2005 he was awarded the cross of merit for his continuous efforts to
involve children in music throughout their childhood. In 2007 he received the german “Echo“
livetime-award.
Rolf Zuckowski also writes and sings songs for adults. Today he sees himself as a singer songwriter
for the whole family. He is married, has three children and two grandchildren.

1994 Rolf Zuckowski is awarded the Echo “German Music Award” for his work as composer,
songwriter, artist and music producer.
2001 Rolf Zuckowski receives the “Paul-Lincke-Ring” awarded by the town of Goslar for his
work in the category “popular music”.
2003 25 years after releasing “Rolfs Vogelhochzeit” Rolf Zuckowski is awarded the German
“Musikeditionspreis” for the complete works of “Rolfs Vogelhochzeit”.
2005 Rolf Zuckowski receives the Verdienstkreuz am Bande (cross of merit on ribbon).
This award acknowledges his contribution to the musical development of children
thereby furthering their social skills and their aesthetic education.
2008 Rolf Zuckowski received the german “Echo Music Award“ for his livetime achivement.
