3rd EurocanPlatform Summer School in
Translational Cancer Research

The EurocanPlatform is organising the third Translational Cancer Research Course in collaboration with the German Cancer Consortium and the European Association for Cancer Research. A five-day programme of lectures and group discussions will cover all
aspects of the translational research continuum from basic/preclinical research to clinical and outcomes research. There will be a
focus on the development of personalised (precision) cancer medicine. The course will provide you with the opportunity to interact
with an expert international faculty of speakers and patient organisation representatives and network with your fellow participants,
both preclinical and clinical researchers.
The programme contains overviews of the cancer problem, cancer biology, and the present important clinical questions; basic/
preclinical research areas of potential interest for translation into clinical research; innovative preventive strategies; the role of
early detection and screening technologies; the roles of molecular pathology and molecular imaging; strategies to personalise medical oncology, immunotherapy, paediatric oncology and radiation therapy; late translational and outcomes research; and science
policy in oncology. There will be an opportunity for participants to discuss their own research activities, both as oral and poster
presentations.
