Für drei Tage aus der normalen Welt ausbrechen: Nicht weniger
als das verspricht ein Besuch des Festivals der Folkmusik, welches
im Sommer im Jericho Beach Park in Vancouver stattfindet. Eine
riesige Anzahl an Bands spielt auf mehreren Bühnen. Das Festival
bietet kleineren Bands eine Plattform, aber auch grosse Namen
wie Joan Baez spielten schon am Jericho Beach Park in Vancouver,
der wohl internationalsten Stadt Kanadas.
Escape the real world for three days: a visit to the Folk Music
Festival, which takes place in the summer at the Jericho Beach
Park in Vancouver, promises nothing less than this. A colossal
number of bands play on multiple stages. The festival offers small
bands a platform, but even big names such as Joan Baez have
played at Jericho Beach Park in Vancouver – arguably Canada’s
most international city.

Schier unglaubliche Figuren werden am Sugar Sand Festival in
den weissen Sand westlich von Tampa in Florida gezaubert. Am
Clearwater Beach kämpfen die besten Skulpteure der Welt um
den Titel des Sandkönigs. Im Speed-Wettkampf geht es darum,
in zehn Minuten die fantasievollste Figur zu modellieren. Mit
Konzerten am Strand und einem grossen Abschluss-Feuerwerk.
Almost unbelievable sculptures are conjured up at the Sugar Sand
Festival in the white sands west of Tampa, Florida. The best
sculptors in the world compete for the title of Sand King on Clearwater Beach. The speed competition is all about sculpting the
most imaginative sculpture in ten minutes. With beach concerts
and a massive closing fireworks display.
