13 – 15 August 2010
13 – 15 August 2010______________ Sports event organiser: Badischer Motorsport Club e.V. in the DMV Am Motodrom 68766 Hockenheim Phone: Fax: Email: 0049 (0) 6205 101816 0049 (0) 6205 923881 [email protected] Welcome to the 25th NitrOlympX The countdown is running: From 13 to 15 August, the European top teams will once more meet on the Hockenheimring to turn the "Rico Anthes Quartermile" into the ultimate performance test bench for the 25th time. The main interest of our visitors is probably once more targeted at the competitions for the FIA Drag Racing European Championships. This is where all advertised classes are competing for points – which will in many cases be decisive for winning the Championships. Experience in the area of course preparation has now made "our TRACK" one of the best 4 second courses in Europe for Top Fuel Dragsters. This year, a team of NHRA specialists will once more complement the Hockenheim crew in "Track Preparation & Safety" as well as in the areas of pre-start and deceleration zones. For the first time, the sportsman categories include the "Pro-ET" and "Super-Pro-ET" classes, which we would like to welcome here. As is tradition by now as well as a valuable part of track preparation, there will again be "PUBLIC RACE DAYS" for street cars and bikes one week before the NitrOlympX (07 -08 Aug.). With the NitrOlympX of 1986 to 2008, Rico Anthes created a traditional event for international drag racing, which is now for the second time hosted by Hockenheim-Ring GmbH as a promoter and the Badischer Motorsport Club (BMC) as sports organiser. The 2009 premier was highly successful. If all competitors and organisational team members come to Hockenheim with the same joy in sports and positive attitude, nothing will be in the way of a harmonious course of events. We are looking forward to celebrating the 25th NitrOlympX together with you and hope that the event will be free of both rain and accidents. The Hockenheim-Ring GmbH and Badischer Motorsport Club team wishes all drivers a successful season and is looking forward to seeing you in Hockenheim! With sportive regards Badischer Motorsport Club Hockenheim-Ring GmbH P.S.: A preliminary schedule will soon be available on our racers page. 2 Important notes: With this letter, you are receiving all required documents for entering. Please read their contents carefully! This will spare you and us surprises during document inspection and time-consuming debates at the race weekend. The last entry date is 29 July 2010 – entry with discounted entry fee up to 16 July 2010. After the last entry date, confirmation of entry is sent out by email or mail; competitors are published on our homepage www.nitrolympx.de by 06 August 2010 at the latest. This constitutes a binding agreement to participate. The sports officials will indicate any team not appearing for the event without any plausible explanation will be indicated to the sports authorities. To prevent any sports penalties imposed by the DMSB, make sure to indicate any possible revocation in time. Forms: 1. The reason for this bureaucratic effort is due to the tax office. Anyone not entering a travel expense statement must pay taxes on any amounts we pay out. Therefore, the prize money awarded for the different classes is divided into reimbursement for travel expenses and prize money. The prize money is paid by the club from the entry fees paid. Reimbursement for travel expenses is paid right to the teams by the organiser, but only if the respective statement of travel expenses is present. In this case, any amounts paid up to the height of the travel expenses named in the statement of travel expenses will not be subject to tax. Please document any kilometres driven and collect all receipts. Anyone submitting proper travel expenses will save taxes. Rules, licenses: The DMSB dragster rules shall apply for the NEAFP classes, the UEM regulations for drag bikes and the FIA regulation for the Drag Racing European Championships. www.dmsb.de www.fia.com www.uem-online.org The event advertisements will be published on our homepage after approval www.nitrolympx.de -. For ProET, the index from 9:00 to 11:99 sec. shall apply – any ProET competitors must include a time slip as proof of time in their entry. The DMSB ProET and SuperProET (7:00 to 8:99 sec.) regulations permit participation even without permanent MOT approval. The Super Gas and Super Comp classes are advertised according to the DMSB regulations and qualified according to the class index. Attention: No event licenses will be drawn up on site! Only a valid drag racing licence of the DMSB or a foreign sports authority shall authorise to participate in the event. The event status is International FIA and National NEAFP (National Event with Authorized Foreign Participation). The vehicle class selected on the entry form can no longer be changed after the last entry date. Any change of the 4 entry is only possible for technical reasons, and the decision on this will be made by the race direction. Start Crew: Starting at SSB, SG & ProET, one helper each may accompany the vehicle to the starting line, as of Pro-Bike, Competition & SuperProET two helpers and in the FIA classes five helpers. All other crew members must board the crew vehicle after the pre-start or stay back. For Super Gas, a crew vehicle in the starting area is only permissible in exceptions for which a reason is given. The racing vehicles therefore must be able to start without any aid and have sufficient motor cooling. All racing vehicles requiring a service car for return must be equipped with a clearly visible tow hook. Grandstand seats for competitors: We have reserved seats in the lower rows of southern stand, zones A, B, C and D for competitors. These places are easily accessible from the pre-start and starting area. The team tickets authorise access to the grandstand areas. If a team requires more tickets, a total of no more than 5 tickets (per team) can be ordered for this stand area at a price of 60.00 Euro each (form "additional orders"). These discounted team tickets are only available upon pre-order and payment by the end of the entry deadline. Drivers buying additional team tickets must have all ticket holders sign the waiver of liability as well. A serious note: Access authorisation to the respective grandstand seats is printed on the team tickets and the respective team ticket must be worn visibly by each team member at all times. Anyone encountered without a team ticket loses his/her right to participate. Team tickets must not be passed on to any "third parties"! Schedule: We are starting on Thursday, 12 August, at 10.00 a.m. (to 7.00 p.m.) with vehicle inspection; the end of inspection is Friday, 13 August, 5.00 p.m. On Friday, qualifying rounds are driven already. Participation in the 1st qualifying on Friday is only possible after technical approval of the vehicle on Thursday and presence at the driver briefing at 8 p.m.! On Saturday, there are two more qualifying rounds on the schedule; starting at 4.00 p.m., there will already be the first elimination rounds for some classes. For elimination, the following staging rules shall apply: The ProET and SSB classes have exactly 15 seconds time after burnout to stand in both stage lights. For classes SG, SC, STG and SuperProET, 20 seconds and for all higher classes 30 seconds shall apply as period until both stage lights are lit. Advice for the Qualifying: Every team should already complete a qualifying run on Friday to give us a valid time for the flow charts. "Better safe than sorry!" While we have another 2 qualifying rounds and any drivers have sufficient possibility to go through their qualifying runs in the scope of the "normal" schedule, accidents, "oil-downs" or rain may prevent this. Pit spaces: Pit spaces are only rented as a complete unit on request! The pit facility is neither intended as accommodation for the crew, nor as a canteen kitchen or pub. On the subject of waste: please use the respective containers (trash 5 bags available in the race office). Scrap parts and old tyres must not be left on the Hockenheimring premises! Hospitality, Team Guests: Catering to team sponsors and guests is to be considered hospitality and commits the team to paying a fee depending on the size of the hospitality area. The basic prerequisite for this is that every guest or sponsor buys a regular grandstand ticket. Any team hospitality areas can only be permitted after coordination. Selling the team's own souvenirs: For selling team souvenirs such as t-shirts, caps, jackets, etc., a special permit by the town of Hockenheim is required! Every team shall be personally responsible for getting this special permit (contact: Oliver Lenhard, Phone: 06205 -950 241). Paddock, Pit Space: The rear (fenced-in) part of the large paddock main -A- is required as parking space for the paddock grandstand visitors again. At 11 p.m., all paddock access routes are closed and only competitors with team tickets are granted access after this time. The parking spaces in the paddock are numbered and assigned. Our pit marshals will show you the pit space assigned to you. Assignment will be by class: ProET, SSB = 30 m², SuperProET, SG, SC, PSB/PB, STW/TFB = 50 m² and CC, PM, TM, TF = 80 m². Anyone in need of any additional parking space must rent this for a fee (45.00 Euro are charged for 30 m² / 75.00 Euro are charged for 50 m² – form "additional orders"). Passes for service cars (also service bikes / scooters, etc.) are labelled with the vehicle's license plate number at document inspection. Vehicles parking in the paddock without a car pass will be towed to the "Parc Fermé". Fee payable by the person collecting them! The "WALKING SPEED" speed limit applies for all vehicles in the paddock! Additionally, all service vehicles (also service scooters / motorcycles) are subject to the STVZO and the respective noise levels according to the operation permit. Vehicles without exhaust mufflers are taken out of service by the regulatory authorities! After 11 p.m., any "motorised traffic" in the paddock is prohibited. Attention parents: Children are prohibited from any use of motorised vehicles! Drivers can be excluded from the race if crew and children do not comply with the rules. Children under 12 years of age may only be present in the paddock under supervision of the parents. Roller skates and skateboards are prohibited in the paddock. 6 Preisgeldstaffel --------------------------------------------------------- Prize money Structure * Treten in einer Kategorie weniger Teilnehmer an als in der Ausschreibung vorgesehen, reduziert sich das Preisgeld entsprechend. --------------------------------------------------* If fewer participants compete in one class, the prize money can be reduced accordingly. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Our pit marshals will show you the parking area assigned to you in the paddock. Assignment is according to class: JD, ProET, SSB = 30 m², SuperProET, SG, SC, STG, PSB/FB, STW/TFB = 50 m² and CC, PM, TM, TF = 80 m² free of charge parking space. Anyone requiring additional parking space must rent this space for a fee. 30 m² = 45.00 Euro, 50 m² = 75.00 Euro rent (send in ordering form with entry). Additional team tickets (max. 5 per team) can be ordered at a price of 60.00 Euro each. The pits in Hockenheim are always combined in units of 6 parking spaces (with toilet and electrical power) in addition to the security deposit for the keys; rent amounting to 450.00 Euro per pit unit shall be paid, as well as a lump sum of an additional 150.00 Euro for power and cleaning. As in the last years, only complete pit units are rented out. Usage for kitchen, camping, parties and smoking in the pits is prohibited. Every year, we receive complaints from the regulatory authorities due to continuing violations of the safety regulations, e.g. smoking crew members next to stored fire-hazardous substances. Therefore, every pit unit is only rented out after coordination and to a person of trust who represents a group of drivers or several teams and is ready to accept responsibility for any possible happenings. Trailer parking spaces for PRO teams (PM–TM-D/FC–TF) on the starting / home stretch of the F-1 race track are only assigned after coordination and every team shall pay a fee of 150.00 Euro for connection to electrical power, toilet facilities and cleaning of the race track. We are expecting a clear increase of the number of participants for the PRO classes this year. Parking spaces on the starting / home stretch are therefore aligned diagonally at a 45 degrees angle to the track, and 9 only 12 m of the trailer with canvas porch will be able to stand on the asphalt area. The trailer length must be indicated in the order form. Tractors and trucks must be parked on the grass, and the ground under the race vehicle must be covered with a tarpaulin. The PRO teams are set up according to FIA classes and are given precedence. Trackside parking spaces for other teams are only awarded in exceptional cases for which reasons are given!
