The BM 75 upper arm blood pressure monitor was tested on pregnant women in accordance with the regulations of the British Hypertension Society as part of comparative measurements by a clinical research institution and given a positive result. According to the recent study1 the BM 75 can be recommended for pregnancy in particular. The measurement algorithm of the Beurer blood pressure monitor was specifically adjusted to the particular requirements of blood pressure measurement of pregnant women and its suitability proven by this clinical study. The device is being presented at the Beurer stand at Medica (Hall 12, Stand A31). Blood pressure measurement during pregnancy Around 6-8% of all pregnant women have significantly higher blood pressure during pregnancy, which is known as pregnancy-induced hypertension. This may result in pre-eclampsia (gestosis) and, in particularly severe cases, also eclampsia – with serious consequences for both the mother and baby. The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe (German Society for Gynaecology and Obstetrics) therefore recommends that, following the first check-up by a doctor, pregnant women also regularly measure their blood pressure themselves at home with an upper arm monitor.2 The aim is to create a blood pressure profile so that the recorded values can be discussed together with the doctor at appointments. 1 Clinical study : Tempestas , Institute for Medical Research, Cloppenburg , Germany Deutsche Gesellschaft für Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe (2013): S1 guideline: "Diagnostik und Therapie hypertensiver Schwangerschaftserkrankungen" (Diagnostics and therapy for hypertensive pregnancy illnesses) 2 Anke Großhable Public Relations Tel. 0731/3989-253 [email protected] Alexandra Müller Public Relations Tel. 0731/3989-309 [email protected] BM 75 upper arm blood pressure monitor With the BM 75, the recorded data can easily be transferred to a smartphone (using NFC technology) or computer (via USB), where it can be documented and clearly presented using Beurer HealthManager. The data can then be exported or printed out for handing over to the doctor. Alternatively, a blood pressure pass is available to download for free from the "Service" area on the Beurer website. The easy-to-use upper arm blood pressure monitor comes with a large, white illuminated display and transfers the measurements to smartphones via NFC (Near Field Communication). The patented resting indicator ensures exact measurements as, to avoid falsifying the measurement, it is important to remain still during the measurement and not to speak. The resting indicator informs you after the measurement whether you were sufficiently rested mentally and physically. The BM 75 furthermore has WHO classification3 and arrhythmia detection, as well as 2 x 60 memory spaces. An award-winning product The measuring device was awarded prizes for "Ease of Use" and "Functionality" by the jury of the Plus X Award. Furthermore, the Deutsche Hochdruckliga e.V. DHL® (German Hypertension Society) has awarded the BM 75 its seal of approval for measurement accuracy. About Beurer Beurer was founded in 1919 in Ulm and is synonymous with health and well-being.
