It is difficult to imagine our everyday lives without state-of-the-art technologies.
The networking of technologies plays an increasingly important role here and
also affects the control of buildings. A wide variety of options have now
emerged in this area for allowing processes to be fully automated and controlled according to specifications. The spectrum of Schüco systems for this
ranges from simple automation solutions for single doors or windows through
to fully networked systems for the entire building envelope. All of the systems

Steigende Anforderungen an die Gesamtenergieeffizienz
Weltweit sind Gebäude für rund ein Drittel des
gesamten Primärenergieverbrauchs verantwortlich. Damit einhergehend wird ebenfalls etwa ein
Drittel der weltweiten CO2-Emissionen durch die
Nutzung dieser Gebäude verursacht (Quelle:
Internationale Energie-Agentur, IEA). Durch
nachhaltige und vor allem intelligente Gebäude
lassen sich Verbräuche – und damit schädliche
Treibhausgase wie CO2 – jedoch entscheidend
minimieren. Hocheffiziente Lösungen zur Gebäudeautomation leisten somit nicht nur einen wichtigen und wertvollen Beitrag zum Klima- und
Umweltschutz, sondern sorgen außerdem noch
für eine Wertsteigerung des Gebäudes über

Der Anspruch an die Gesamtenergieeffizienz von
Gebäuden wird zukünftig weltweit weiter steigen.
In Europa etwa müssen ab 2021 alle neuen
Gebäude Niedrigstenergiegebäude sein. Und in
Deutschland erhöht die Neufassung der EnEV
2016 die energetischen Anforderungen an neue
Wohn- und Nichtwohngebäude unter besonderer
Berücksichtigung der Gebäudeautomation. Das
heißt, dass der Jahresprimärenergiebedarf eines
Gebäudes ab 2016 nochmals um 25 % verringert
wird (im Vergleich zum Referenzgebäude).
Increasing demands for overall energy
efficiency
Buildings account for around a third of the
world‘s primary energy consumption. As a
consequence of this, approximately a third of
the global CO2 emissions are caused by the use
of these buildings (source: International Energy
Agency, IEA). However, sustainable and above
all intelligent buildings can help consumption
levels and therefore also harmful greenhouse
gases such as CO2 to be significantly reduced.
In this way, highly efficient building automation
solutions not only make an important and
valuable contribution to climate and environmental protection, they also increase the value of the
building over its entire lifecycle.
The demands placed on the overall energy
efficiency of buildings throughout the world will
further increase in future. In Europe for instance,
from 2021 all new buildings must be nearly
zero-energy buildings. And in Germany, the new
version of the 2016 energy saving regulations
(EnEV) increases the energy requirements placed
on new residential and non-residential buildings
with a particular focus on building automation.
That means that the annual primary energy
requirement of a building must be reduced by
a further 25% in 2016 (in comparison with the
reference building).

researchers at the Buffalo Organization for

communication components. Together with the internal station,
the call button, intercom system and video camera form a
scalable door communication system for properties ranging from
houses right through to large projects.
And the new DCS Touch Display goes one step further: door
communication via video or audio and access control via code
entry are combined here in one single module – and all with
one user interface, the Touch Display, which can be operated as

weltweit unterschiedlicher klimatischer Verhältnisse: Eine elektromagnetische Verträglichkeitsprüfung (EMV) gewährleistet, dass weder
Fehlfunktionen noch Funktionsausfall auftreten
können. Auch die Dichtigkeit in puncto Schlagregen, Luftdurchlässigkeit und Windlast wird
sichergestellt. Außerdem werden Temperaturund Feuchtigkeitszyklen simuliert, Wärmedurchgangskoeffizienten ermittelt sowie Korrosionsbeständigkeit und Witterungseinflüsse geprüft.
Die Prüfungen erfolgen im Schüco Technologiezentrum, einem der weltweit leistungsstärksten
Prüfzentren für Fenster, Türen, Fassaden und
neue Technologien. Durch die nationale Akkreditierungsstelle der Bundesrepublik Deutschland
(DAkkS) ist das Technologiezentrum in neun
Bereichen als unabhängiges Herstellerlabor
akkreditiert. Alle Prüfungen werden so mit der
erforderlichen Neutralität durchgeführt.

system testing
Automated Schüco solutions are the result of our
own sustainable product developments. They
meet the most stringent national and international
standards and guidelines, both as individual
components and as an overall system. Schüco
ensures this by means of a comprehensive series
of tests, which also take account of different
climate conditions worldwide. Electromagnetic
compatibility (EMC) testing guarantees that the
system neither malfunctions nor fails. Weathertightness is also ensured in terms of driving rain,
air permeability and wind load. In addition,
temperature and humidity cycles are simulated,
thermal transmittance is calculated, and corrosion resistance and weather conditions are
tested.
The tests are conducted in the Schüco Technology Center, one of the world’s leading test
centres for windows, doors, façades and new
technologies. The Technology Center is accredited as an independent manufacturing laboratory
in nine areas by the national accreditation body
for the Federal Republic of Germany (DAkkS). All
tests are therefore carried out with the required
neutrality.
