Liebe Mitglieder, liebe Fußballfreunde,
Dear Members, dear football friends
mit welcher enormen Kraft der Fußball die Menschen zusammenführt, hat einmal mehr die Weltmeisterschaft in Südafrika gezeigt. Unser Sport begeistert die
Massen und fördert das freundschaftliche Miteinander der unterschiedlichen
Kulturen.
Nach der WM geht das Fußballfest in Deutschland weiter. Denn internationale
Topspieler garantieren in der Bundesliga schon seit vielen Jahren volle Stadien
und weltweit hohe Einschaltquoten.

power with which football brings people together. Our sports inspire the masses
and foster friendly relationships between the different cultures.
After the world cup event, the football festival will continue. For many years
international top players have assured the Bundesliga full stadiums and high
viewer levels worldwide.
Eine starke Liga wie die Bundesliga kann natürlich nur
mit einer starken Spielergewerkschaft funktionieren,
die dafür sorgt, dass die berechtigten Interessen der
Profis angemessen berücksichtigt werden und die zugleich verlässlicher Anlaufpunkt und professionelle
Servicestelle für die Spieler ist. Seit mehr als 20 Jahren
nimmt die VDV diese Aufgaben erfolgreich wahr.
A strong league such as the Bundesliga can obviously
only work with a strong players’ labour union which
makes sure that the justified interests of the professional players are adequately accounted for and which
at the same time is a reliable contact partner and
professional service centre for the players. The VDV
has successfully taken on these tasks for more than
20 years.
Zum Saisonstart begrüßt die Spielergewerkschaft
ganz herzlich alle Spieler, die erstmals die deutsche
Profibühne betreten und heißt insbesondere die neuen Kollegen aus dem Ausland willkommen. Bei Fragen
und Problemen aller Art könnt Ihr Euch vertrauensvoll
an uns wenden.

La Coupe du Monde en Afrique du
Sud a encore une fois démontré avec
quelle énergie le football réunit les
êtres humains. Notre sport enthousiasme les foules et promeut l‘amitié
entre les différentes cultures.
Après la Coupe du Monde, la fête du
football se poursuit en Allemagne.
Car, dans la Bundesliga, les joueurs
internationaux de haut niveau sont
une garantie pour remplir - depuis
des années - les stades et obtenir un
fort taux de téléspectateurs dans le
monde entier.

festa do futebol continua na Alemanha, pois jogadores internacionais de
topo garantem já desde há muitos
anos, na Bundesliga, estádios cheios e elevadas quotas de audiência a
nível mundial.
Uma liga forte como a Bundesliga só
pode, naturalmente, funcionar com
um sindicato de jogadores forte que
cuide e tenha em consideração os interesses legítimos dos profissionais e,
ao mesmo tempo, seja um ponto de

spricht über den internationalen
Stellenwert der Bundesliga, die Integration von ausländischen Spielern
sowie über die Eindämmung von
Rassismus und Gewalt im Fußball.
Wir Profis: Herr Seifert, was macht die
Bundesliga im Vergleich mit den anderen
internationalen Top-Ligen einzigartig und
für ausländische Spieler attraktiv?
Christian Seifert: Die Bundesliga hat
europaweit die meisten Zuschauer, die
schönsten Stadien, die beste Infrastruktur
und, auch für Fußballprofis nicht ganz unwichtig, unsere Klubs zahlen jeden Monat
pünktlich die Gehälter. Hinzu kommt, dass
die Bundesliga mittlerweile in allen 208
FIFA-Ländern zu sehen ist. Das ist sicherlich
für jeden Spieler interessant.
Wir Profis: In welchen Bereichen haben
die Ligen in England, Spanien und Italien
noch die Nase vorn?
Christian Seifert: Sicherlich ist das Gehaltsniveau bei manchen Klubs in England,
Spanien oder auch Italien ein anderes,
aber auch in der Bundesliga wird gut bezahlt. Sportlich sehe ich die Bundesliga an
zweiter Stelle in Europa hinter der Premier
League. Das zeigt sich auch daran, dass
wir kurz davor sind, wieder einen vierten
Champions-League-Startplatz zu erhalten. Hinzu kommt, dass in der Bundesliga
ein ausgeglichener Wettbewerb herrscht.
Bei uns kann auch der Tabellen-18. den
Meister schlagen.
Wir Profis: Was unternimmt die Bundesliga, um auch sportlich an die Spitze zu
kommen?
Christian Seifert: Sportlich gesehen ist
die Bundesliga die ausgeglichenste TopLiga weltweit. Anders als in Spanien, wo
zwischen dem Meister und dem letzten
Europa-League-Teilnehmer 41 Punkte
liegen, sind es in der Bundesliga nur 13.
Das heißt, in der Bundesliga kann jeder
jeden schlagen und das bedeutet, man
ist als Spieler Woche für Woche gefordert,
Höchstleistung zu bringen. Hinzu kommt,
dass die Klubs intensiv den Nachwuchs
fördern. Allein in der abgelaufenen Saison
investierten die Lizenzklubs 78 Millionen
Euro in die Nachwuchsleistungszentren. In
dem die Vereine frühzeitig beginnen, junge,
gut ausgebildete Spieler in der Bundesliga
zu etablieren, die sich mit starken ausländischen Spielern messen müssen, steigt
das Niveau der Liga.
Wir Profis: Rassismus und Gewalt sind
leider immer noch Themen, mit denen sich
auch der deutsche Profifußball beschäftigen muss. Was wird von Verbänden und
Klubs geleistet, um diese Probleme besser
in den Griff zu bekommen?
Christian Seifert: Gewalt und Rassismus
haben in den Stadien der Bundesliga keinen Platz und da gibt es auch keine Toleranz. Es herrscht bei allen Verantwortlichen
eine große Sensibilität für die Probleme,
die ja nicht nur den Fußball betreffen, sondern die gesamte Gesellschaft. Wir haben
gerade zusammen mit der Politik einen
Zehn-Punkte-Plan für mehr Sicherheit in
den Stadien verabschiedet. Darüber hinaus
sind wir weltweit die einzige Liga, in der es
pädagogische Fanprojekte gibt.
Wir Profis: Nicht wenige ausländische Profis klagen insbesondere in der Anfangszeit
in Deutschland hinter vorgehaltener Hand
über Heimweh und mangelnde Unterstützung. Welche Bemühungen gibt es, die
Integrationsarbeit der Klubs zu verbessern?
Christian Seifert: Wenn man neu in ein
Land kommt, ist das sicherlich für niemanden einfach. Aber die Klubs bemühen
sich intensiv darum, dass sich ausländische
Spieler hier schnell integrieren. Ihnen wird
bei Wohnungssuche und Behördengängen
geholfen und auch Deutschkurse werden
angeboten. Aber es liegt auch immer an
einem selbst, inwieweit man bereit ist
sich zu integrieren. Ich würde jedem raten,
schnell deutsch zu lernen, wenn er in die
Bundesliga kommt, denn das hilft ungemein bei der Integration.
Wir Profis: Wie beurteilen Sie in diesem
Zusammenhang das umfangreiche Serviceangebot der Spielergewerkschaft VDV für
ausländische Spieler?
Christian Seifert: Ich glaube, dass es
außerordentlich wichtig ist, dass die VDV
diesen Service anbietet, denn auch das
erleichtert den Spielern, die neu in die Bundesliga kommen, die Integration.

the international significance of the Bundesliga, the integration of foreign players as well
as the containment of racism and violence in
football.
Wir Profis: Mr. Seifert, what is it that makes the Bundesliga so unique and attractive for foreign players
compared with other international top leagues?
Christian Seifert: In Europe, the Bundesliga has the
most spectators, the most beautiful stadiums, the best
infrastructure and – also important for professional
players – our clubs pay their monthly salaries on time.
In addition, the Bundesliga can already be watched
in all 208 FIFA countries. This definitely makes it interesting for all the players.
Wir Profis: In which areas are the leagues in England,
Spain and Italy are ahead of us?
Christian Seifert: The income level is certainly different in some of the clubs in England, Spain or even
Italy but the players in the Bundesliga are also well
paid. From a sports perspective, the Bundesliga comes
second in Europe behind the Premier League. This is
evident as we are very close to receive a fourth Champions-League starting place. In addition, the competition in the Bundesliga is balanced. It is possible that the
team on place 18 can defeat the champion.
Wir Profis: What is the Bundesliga doing to get to the
top from a sports perspective?
Christian Seifert: From a sports perspective, the
Bundesliga is the most balanced top league in the
world. Unlike in Spain where the difference between
the champion and the last participants in the Europe
League is 41 points, this difference in the Bundesliga
is only 13 points. That means: In the Bundesliga anyone can beat anyone and it means that as a player you
need to demonstrate maximum performance week after week. And the clubs intensively support the young
talents. Just in the past season alone, the clubs invested 78 million euros in young athletes’ centres.

As the clubs start early to establish young, well-trained
players in the Bundesliga who have to compete with
strong foreign players, the performance level of the
league will increase.
Wir Profis: Unfortunately, racism and violence are still
issues the German professional football has to deal
with. What are the associations and clubs doing to get
a better grip on these problems?
Christian Seifert: There is no room for violence and
racism in the stadiums of the Bundesliga and it is not
tolerated. All parties responsible are very sensitive concerning the problems which after all do not only concern football but the whole of society. In cooperation
with politics we just passed a ten point plan for more
safety in our stadiums. Worldwide, we are also the only
league offering educational fan projects.
Wir Profis: In private, quite a few foreign professional players have – especially in the beginning – complained about home sickness and a lack of support.
What is being done to improve the integration efforts
of the clubs?
Christian Seifert: It is never easy for anyone, when
you are new in a country. But the clubs are giving their
best to quickly integrate foreign players. They are given help when dealing with the authorities and with
house-hunting and they are offered German courses.
But it is also always up to you how much you are willing to integrate. I would advice anyone to quickly
learn German when coming to the Bundesliga as this
will go a long way to help with the integration.
Wir Profis: In this context, how do you evaluate the
comprehensive services offered to foreign players by
the players’ labour union VDV?
Christian Seifert: I believe that it is very important
to have the VDV offer these services. It makes the integration easier for the new players in the Bundesliga.

Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH (DFL), the vice president of the
German Football Association (DFB) and a board member of the
League Association. In addition, the former TV manager is the
assistant chairman of the foundation council of the Bundesliga Foundation and the spokesman of the Initiative Profisport
Deutschland (Professional Sports in Germany Initiative).

Wir Profis : Monsieur Seifert, compara-
tivement aux autres ligues internationales de haut niveau qu’est-ce qui rend la
Bundesliga si unique et si attractive pour
les joueurs étrangers ?
Christian Seifert : Dans toute l’Europe,
la Bundesliga a le plus grand nombre
de spectateurs, les plus beaux stades, la
meilleure infrastructure et - également
une chose très importante pour les footballeurs professionnels - nos clubs paient
ponctuellement chaque mois les salaires.
Vient s‘ajouter le fait que la Bundesliga
peut être vue dans les 208 pays de la
FIFA. C‘est certainement intéressant pour
chaque joueur.
Wir Profis : Dans quels domaines les li-
gues d’Angleterre, d’Espagne et d’Italie
sont encore en avance ?
Christian Seifert : Dans quelques clubs
d’Angleterre, d’Espagne ou même
d’Italie, le niveau des salaires est certainement différent, mais dans la Bundesliga nous payons bien aussi. Du point
de vue sportif, je vois la Bundesliga en
deuxième place en Europe derrière la
Premier League. Ce qui démontre que
nous sommes à deux doigts d’être à
la quatrième place de la ChampionsLeague. Vient s’ajouter le fait qu’il règne
une concurrence équilibrée dans la Bundesliga. Chez nous, le 18ème du tableau
peut aussi devenir champion.
Wir Profis : Qu’est-ce que fait la Bun-
desliga pour être à la pointe au niveau
sportif ?
Christian Seifert : D’un point de vue
sportif, la Bundesliga est la ligue de haut
niveau la plus équilibrée au monde. Il
n’en est pas de même en Espagne où il
y a 41 points entre le champion et le dernier participant à l‘Europa-League, alors
qu’il n’y en a que 13 dans la Bundesliga.
Ce qui signifie que dans la Bundesliga
chacun peut battre l’autre, ce qui veut
dire qu’en tant que joueur, on est poussé
semaine après semaine à donner le maximum. Vient également s’ajouter le fait
que les clubs soutiennent fortement la
promotion de la relève. Rien que durant
la saison écoulée, les clubs sous licence
ont investi 78 millions d‘Euros dans les
centres de promotion de la relève. Le
niveau de la ligue augmente car les associations commencent très tôt à établir
dans la Bundesliga de jeunes joueurs
bien formés qui doivent se mesurer à des
joueurs internationaux de haut niveau.
Wir Profis : Le racisme et la violence
restent malheureusement des thèmes
que doit traiter le football professionnel
allemand. Que font les associations et
les clubs pour mieux maîtriser ces problèmes ?
Christian Seifert : Dans les stades de
la Bundesliga, la violence et le racisme
n‘ont pas leur place, et à ce niveau, il n‘y
a aucune tolérance. Tous les responsables
sont très sensibles à ces problèmes, qui
ne concernent pas que le football mais
aussi toute la société. Justement, avec
les responsables politiques, nous avons
signé un plan en dix points pour plus de
sécurité dans les stades. De plus, nous
sommes la seule ligue au monde ayant
des projets pédagogiques pour les fans.
Wir Profis : Il existe cependant beaucoup
pour l‘intégration.
Wir Profis : À ce sujet, quel est votre
jugement sur l’énorme offre de services
du syndicat des joueurs VDV pour les joueurs étrangers ?
Christian Seifert : Je crois qu‘il est d’une
extrême importance que le VDV offre ces
services, car ceci facilite l’intégration des
joueurs qui viennent d’arriver dans la
Bundesliga.

vem para a Bundesliga, porque isso ajuda muito na integração.
Christian Seifert: Violência e racismo
não têm lugar nos estádios da Bundesliga e também não existe tolerância
alguma para eles. Existe uma grande
sensibilidade por parte de todos os responsáveis para estes problemas, que
afectam não só o futebol mas toda a
sociedade. Acabamos de adoptar, juntamente com os responsáveis políticos, um
plano de dez pontos para que haja mais
segurança nos estádios. Para além disso,
somos, a nível mundial, a única liga na
qual existem projectos pedagógicos para
fãs.
Wir Profis: Muitos profissionais es-
trangeiros queixam-se de forma envergonhada sobre as saudades e apoio
Wir Profis: Como analisa, neste contex-
to, a vasta oferta de serviços do sindicato
de jogadores da VDV para jogadores estrangeiros?
Christian Seifert: Eu acredito que é ex-
tremamente importante que a VDV disponibilize este Serviço, porque também
facilita a integração dos jogadores que
vêm pela primeira vez para a Bundesliga.

Arjen Robben ist zum VDVSpieler der Saison 2009/2010

niederländischen Nationalspieler vom FC Bayern München entfielen 72,7 Prozent
der abgegebenen Stimmen.
Auf dem zweiten Platz landete sein Mannschaftskamerad
Bastian Schweinsteiger (6,2
Prozent), Dritter wurde der
Wolfsburger Edin Dzeko (4,9
Prozent).
Bei der Abstimmung zum
besten Newcomer der abgelaufenen Spielzeit setzte sich
Thomas Müller (Bayern München, 73,1 Prozent) vor Marco
Reus (Borussia Mönchengladbach, 10,5 Prozent) und Holger Badstuber (Bayern München, 3,6 Prozent) durch. Den

Wiederwahlen und Forderungen bei VDV-Spielerversammlung
Christoph Metzelder ist bei der Spielerversammlung der VDV am Saisonende einstimmig von den Delegierten für weitere drei
Jahre als Vizepräsident der Spielergewerkschaft bestätigt worden. Ebenso wurde Dr.
Frank Rybak einstimmig als Schatzmeister
wiedergewählt.
In den Spielerrat wurden unter anderem
Sebastian Kehl, Gerald Asamoah, Simon Rolfes, Christoph Dabrowski, Michael Melka und
Alexander Klitzpera berufen. VDV-Präsident
Florian Gothe sowie der zweite Vizepräsident
Carsten Ramelow müssen sich turnusgemäß erst
2012 einer Wiederwahl stellen.
Im Rahmen des Jahresberichtes erhoben sich
die Delegierten für eine Trauerminute für den im
vergangenen Jahr verstorbenen Nationaltorhüter Robert Enke. Florian Gothe betonte anschließend, dass die VDV sich weiterhin verstärkt für
den Ausbau der sportpsychologischen Betreuung von Fußballprofis und Nachwuchsspielern
einsetze. Kritik äußerte der VDV-Präsident ins-
besondere mit Blick auf die zahlreichen Insolvenzen und Zahlungsschwierigkeiten im Bereich
der höchsten „Amateurligen“. Hier bedürfe es
einer strengeren Lizenzierung und weitergehender Maßnahmen zum Schutz der Spielergehälter.
Im Anschluss an den formellen Teil ließen die
zahlreich erschienenen Delegierten die Spielerversammlung mit einem gemeinsamen Abendessen und einem Charity-Torwandpreisschießen
zugunsten von UNICEF ausklingen.

At the VDV players’ meeting at the end of
the season, the delegates have confirmed
Christoph Metzelder as vice president of
the players’ labour union for another three
years. Also, Dr. Frank Rybak was unanimously re-elected as treasurer.
Among others, Sebastian Kehl, Gerald Asamoah,
Simon Rolfes, Christoph Dabrowski, Michael
Melka and Alexander Klitzpera have been appointed to the players’ council. VDV president
Florian Gothe as well as the second vice pre-
sident Carsten Ramelow will not stand for reelection before 2012.
Within the course of the annual report, the delegates observed a minute of silence for Robert
Enke, the goalie of the national team, who died
last year. Florian Gothe then emphasised that
the VDV will continue to lobby for the sportspsychological support of football pros and
young players. The VDV president expressed criticism especially in regard to the numerous insolvencies and financial difficulties of the upper
“amateur leagues”. This would require a stricter
licensing and further measures in order to protect the players’ salaries.
Following the formal part of the event, the many
delegates ended the players’ meeting with a
dinner and a goal wall shooting for the benefit
of UNICEF.

ce niveau, il faudrait une attribution de licence
plus stricte et des mesures supplémentaires pour
la protection des salaires de joueurs.
Après la partie formelle, les nombreux délégués
terminèrent l‘assemblée des joueurs par un
dîner commun et un tirage au but de charité au
profit de l‘UNICEF.

Florian Gothe realçou que a VDV continuou a
empenhar-se de forma intensa no desenvolvimento do acompanhamento psicológico em
termos desportivos dos jogadores profissionais
de futebol e das camadas jovens. O Presidente
da VDV fez críticas, em especial, relativamente
às inúmeras insolvências e dificuldades de pagamento no sector das „ligas amadoras“ mais
altas. Aqui, faz falta um licenciamento mais rigoroso e medidas mais amplas para salvaguardar
os ordenados dos jogadores.
A seguir à parte formal, os vários delegados participantes terminaram a assembleia de jogadores com um jantar e um concurso de caridade de
remates à parede com baliza, a favor da UNICEF.

Teambetreuer helfen vor Ort
Bei Problemen von Mitgliedern helfen als erste Ansprechpartner die Teambetreuer der VDV.
Konkret geben Lars Kindgen, Frank Günzel, Markus Lützler und Edmund Rottler Tipps in den
Bereichen Recht, Karriereplanung, Vorsorge,
Medien, Medizin, Sportpsychologie, Anti-Doping
und Training. Bei schwierigen Fragestellungen
stellen sie den Kontakt zu den jeweiligen VDVExperten im Hintergrund her.
Die VDV-Teambetreuer sind bundesweit tätig. Jedem
Klub von der Bundesliga bis hinunter zur Regionalliga
ist jeweils ein Teambetreuer zugeordnet, der den Kontakt mit den Mitgliedern pflegt und die Mannschaften
regelmäßig besucht.
Geleitet wird das Team der Teambetreuer von Lars
Kindgen. Der ehemalige Lizenzspieler war unter anderem für Alemannia Aachen, Wuppertaler SV, VfB
Lübeck und VfL Osnabrück am Ball und absolvierte
parallel zur fußballerischen Laufbahn seine Ausbildung zum Sportfachwirt (IHK). Alle VDV-Teambetreuer
sind im Besitz einer DFB-Trainerlizenz oder haben ein

Absage an Tortechnologie
Die Regelhüter bleiben hart: Auch zur neuen Spielzeit wird keine Torlinientechnologie
eingeführt. Weiterverfolgt werden hingegen
Experimente mit zusätzlichen Schiedsrichterassistenten als Torrichter.
Wie die Testverfahren konkret ausgestaltet werden
sollen, wird das zuständige International Football
Association Board (IFAB), dem vier Vertreter der
FIFA und je ein Vertreter der Fußballverbände aus
England, Wales, Schottland und Nordirland angehören, zeitnah festlegen.
Ausgeweitet wurde unterdessen der Kompetenzbereich des „Vierten Offiziellen“. Dieser achtet ab
sofort auch auf die Einhaltung der Spielregeln und

Die Vereinigung der Vertragsfußballspieler (VDV) vertritt
als vom Deutschen Fußball-Bund (DFB), Ligaverband und
von der Deutschen Fußball Liga GmbH (DFL) offiziell anerkannte Spielergewerkschaft die Interessen der Fußballprofis in Deutschland und unterstützt ihre über 1.300
Mitglieder in den Bereichen Vorsorge, Recht, Bildung,
Berufsplanung, Medizin, Sportpsychologie, Medienkompetenz und Training. Zudem stellt die VDV Beisitzer für das
DFB-Bundesgericht, das DFB-Sportgericht sowie für das
Ständige Schiedsgericht für Lizenzspieler.

Erfolge und Ziele
In ihrer über zwanzigjährigen Geschichte hat die VDV bereits zahlreiche Verbesserungen für die Profis erwirkt; darunter unter anderem die Durchsetzung
der Ablösefreiheit nach Vertragsende (gemeinsam mit Jean-Marc Bosman und
den europäischen Spielervereinigungen), die Einführung der jährlichen kardiologischen Pflichtuntersuchung im Lizenzbereich, den Aufbau des DFB-VDVVersorgungswerkes sowie die Schaffung verbesserter Wechselmöglichkeiten für
vertragslose Profis.
Ebenso hat sich die VDV durch den Abschluss von Kooperationsvereinbarungen
mit DFB, Ligaverband und DFL Beteiligungsrechte bei fußballpolitischen Entscheidungen gesichert.
Auch für die Zukunft stehen noch zahlreiche Ziele auf der Agenda der VDV; zum
Beispiel die Sicherung der vertragskonformen Gehaltszahlungen bei Finanzproblemen der Klubs (insbesondere im Bereich der Regionalligen), die Abwendung
von Regeln mit diskriminierendem Charakter (wie U 23), den Erhalt des Naturrasens als Normspielfläche oder auch die Festschreibung des Prinzips der freien
Arztwahl.
Serviceleistungen
Die Liste der Serviceleistungen der VDV ist sehr umfangreich. Im Rechtsbereich
erhalten Mitglieder beispielsweise kostenlos eine juristische Erstberatung und
können ebenso unentgeltlich Arbeitsverträge, Prämienvereinbarungen, Gehaltsabrechnungen und Vereinbarungen mit Spielervermittlern prüfen lassen.
Ebenfalls keine Zusatzkosten entstehen Mitgliedern, die das Angebot des
VDV-Laufbahncoaches (Berufsberatung, Bewerbungstraining etc.) in Anspruch
nehmen. Auch die sportärztliche und sportpsychologische Erstberatung per
Telefon und E-Mail sind bereits im Mitgliedsbeitrag enthalten, ebenso die
Teilnahme am Medientraining sowie am Trainingscamp für vereinslose Spieler
und Rekonvaleszenten.

The VDV – Your Players‘ Labour Union
The Professional Football Players Union (VDV) is officially approved by the German Football Association (DFB),
League Association (Ligaverband) and the Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH (DFL) and represents the interests of professional football players in Germany and provides assistance for its more than 1300 members in the areas of
financial security, law, education, career planning, medicine, sports psychology, media competence and training. In

Successes and objectives
In its more than twenty years of existence, the VDV has already achieved many
improvements for the professional players; including, amongst others, the free
transfer after expiration of a contract (together with Jean-Marc Bosman and
the European players’ associations), the introduction of the annual mandatory
cardiologic examination in the licensing area, the development of the DFB-VDVpension scheme as well as improved transfer possibilities for pros without a
contract.
By closing co-operation agreements with the DFB, the Ligaverband
(league association) and DFL, the VDV has also secured ownership rights for
football policy decisions.
For the future, too, there are a number of objectives on the agenda of the VDV;
for example securing of the salary payments in accordance with the contract
in case of financial problems of the clubs (especially regional leagues), the prevention of discriminating rules (such as U 23), the preservation of natural lawn
as the standard playing surface or the principle of the players’ free choice of
medical professionals.
Services
The list of VDV services is very extensive. In legal matter, for example, the members receive a free first legal advice and can also have the VDV free of charge
review their employment contracts, premium contracts, salary statements and
agreements with players’ agents.
There are also no additional costs for members that make use of the offers
provided by the VDV career coach (vocational counselling, job application training etc.). The initial sports medical and sports psychological consultation by
phone and via e-mail are also included in the membership fee – likewise the
participation in media training as well as the training camp for teamless players
and convalescents.

Succès et objectifs
Durant son histoire de plus de vingt ans, le VDV a déjà contribué à de nombreuses améliorations au profit des professionnels ; entre autres la liberté de
rachat à la fin d‘un contrat (obtenue avec Jean-Marc Bosman et les associations
européennes des joueurs), l’introduction de l’examen cardiologique annuel obligatoire pour les licenciés, la mise en place de l‘organisation de prévoyance
DFB-VDV ainsi que la création de possibilités améliorées de changement pour
les professionnels sans contrat.
De plus, le VDV a obtenu des droits de participation lors de décisions politico-
footballistiques grâce à la conclusion d’accords de coopération avec le DFB,
l’association des ligues (Ligaverband) et le DFL.
Sur l’agenda futur du VDV on trouve également d’autres objectifs ; par exemple la consolidation des paiements de salaires conformes au contrat en cas de
problèmes financiers des clubs (particulièrement dans le domaine des ligues
régionales), la suppression de règles à caractères discriminatoires (comme U
23), la conservation du gazon naturel comme surface de jeu normalisée ainsi
que la fixation du principe du libre choix du médecin.
Prestations de service
La liste des prestations de service du VDV est très étendue. Dans le domaine du
droit, les membres peuvent, par exemple, profiter gratuitement d’un premier
conseil juridique gratuit et peuvent aussi faire vérifier sans frais les contrats de
travail, les conventions de primes, les feuilles de salaire et les accords avec les
agents de joueurs.
Les membres n’ont pas non plus d’argent à débourser lorsqu’ils veulent profiter
de l‘offre du coach de carrière du VDV (conseil professionnel, entraînement à la
candidature etc.). Le premier conseil en médecine du sport ou en psychologie
du sport par téléphone et par e-mail est également compris dans la cotisation
de membre, tout comme la participation à l’entraînement aux médias et au
camp d’entraînement pour les joueurs sans club et lors de convalescences.
Également gratuits pour les membres : le conseil financier (assurances, placement de capitaux, prévoyance vieillesse), le conseil antidopage, l’utilisation
de la bibliothèque du VDV, l’envoi du magazine de l’association « WIR PROFIS » (« Nous les professionnels »), la fourniture de données de login pour le

Êxitos e objectivos
Na sua história de mais de vinte anos, a VDV já alcançou inúmeros melhoramentos para os profissionais; entre outras coisas, a liberdade de desvinculação

jogadores europeias), a introdução dos exames cardíacos anuais obrigatórios

Da mesma forma, não existem custos adicionais para os membros que recorram
à oferta dos instrutores de carreira da VDV (orientação profissional, cursos de
formação sobre candidaturas de emprego, etc.). Também o pré-aconselhamento em medicina e psicologia do desporto por telefone e e-mail já estão incluídos
nas cotas de associado, bem como a participação nos cursos de formação em
meios de comunicação e no campo de treino para jogadores sem vínculo e
convalescentes.
Os membros têm ainda acesso gratuito a aconselhamento financeiro (seguros,
aplicação de capitais, pensão de reforma), o aconselhamento anti-doping, a
utilização da biblioteca da VDV, o envio da revista da associação „WIR PROFIS“, a disponibilização de dados de login para áreas exclusivas para membros
do sítio Web da VDV, bem como a atribuição de descontos junto de produtores
e fornecedores de serviços de renome através na rede de lojas com parceria
com a VDV.

Trainingscamp als Jobsprungbrett
Auch in diesem Sommer können sich vereinslose Profis und Rekonvaleszenten wieder im
VDV-Trainingscamp in Duisburg unter professionellen Bedingungen fit halten und sich
darüber hinaus in Testspielen gegen hochklassige Gegner vor den Augen von Trainern, Managern und Scouts für neue Aufgaben empfehlen.
Untergebracht und verpflegt werden die Teilnehmer auf Kosten der VDV in der Sportschule
Wedau. Zudem stellt die Spielergewerkschaft
die Trainingskleidung und kümmert sich um die
medizinische Betreuung (Physiotherapie, Leistungsdiagnostik etc.). Abseits des Trainingsplatzes werden die Spieler durch Experten aus
den Bereichen Gesundheit, Recht, Absicherung,
Laufbahnplanung, Weiterbildung und Medien unterstützt. In den letzten Jahren fanden rund 80
Prozent der Teilnehmer neue Jobs als Fußballprofis.
Trainiert wird im Zeitraum von Juli bis September an grundsätzlich vier Tagen pro Woche. Anmeldungsberechtigt sind alle Profis, die mindestens seit drei Monaten Mitglied der VDV sind.

This summer, teamless pros and convalescents may
once again keep themselves fit in the VDV training
camp in Duisburg under professional conditions
and recommend themselves for new jobs in test
games against high-class opponents in front of
coaches, managers and scouts.
The participants are housed and fed at the expense
of the VDV at the Sportschule Wedau (college of
physical education). In addition, the players’ labour
union will supply the training clothes and take care
of medical support (physiotherapy, performance
diagnostics etc.). Outside the practice field, the
players receive support from experts in the areas
of health, law, financial security, career planning,
further education and media. In the past few years,
about 80 percent of the participants found new
jobs as professional football players.
The training takes place between July and September four days a week. All professional players who
have been members of the VDV for at least three
months are eligible to apply.

Cet été encore, des professionnels sans club et en
convalescence pourront de nouveau se maintenir
en forme dans des conditions professionnelles au
camp d’entraînement du VDV à Duisburg. De plus,
lors de jeux tests contre des adversaires de haut
niveau, ils pourront se faire recommander pour de
nouvelles missions sous les yeux d’entraîneurs, de
managers et de scouts.
Les participants sont hébergés et nourris au frais
du VDV dans l’école de sport de Wedau. De plus,
le syndicat des joueurs met à disposition des vêtements d’entraînement et s’occupe de l’assistance
médicale (physiothérapie, diagnostic de performances, etc.). En dehors du terrain de jeu, les joueurs sont assistés par des experts des domaines de
la santé, du droit, de l’assurance, du plan de carrière, de la formation continue et des médias. Ces
dernières années, près de 80% des participants ont
trouvé un nouvel emploi comme professionnels du
football.
L’entraînement a lieu de juillet à septembre, principalement quatre jours par semaine. Tous les professionnels adhérant depuis au moins trois mois au
VDV peuvent s’inscrire à ce camp.

O alojamento e a estadia dos participantes na
escola de desporto Wedau são suportados pela

disponibiliza o equipamento de treino e trata do
apoio médico (fisioterapia, diagnóstico de desempenho, etc.). Fora do local de treino, os jogadores
são apoiados por peritos das áreas da saúde, jurídica, previdência, planeamento de carreira, formação
contínua e meios de comunicação. Nos últimos
anos, cerca de 80% dos participantes arranjaram
novo emprego como profissionais de futebol.
Por norma, os treinos são realizados entre Julho e
Setembro, quatro dias por semana. Estão habilitados todos os profissionais que sejam membros da
VDV há, pelo menos, três meses.
